Why does it matter? They don't play. If they are then, I guess Boyle can chalk up a loss.

For discussion's sake. People are picking Boyle to win by 2-3 touchdowns. Mercer folks are saying people are overlooking them. I'm asking point blank if people think Mercer is better than Danville. These same kind of predictions were made against Danville(including from myself). How did that turn out? I don't think Boyle is a shoe in to win on Friday and I think Boyle has to continue playing well and hopefully not overlook Mercer or they will get beat.

 

I also think Mercer is better than Danville and didn't think about that at all until today. I still think Boyle beats Mercer but I am not as sure about it as I was 2 days ago.

I haven't seen Danville. So I couldn't say either way. You have seen both, but you haven't seen Mercer with Davis. So if you thought Mercer was better than Danville before. Then I'll say they're better now for sure with Davis at qb. He opens our offense up. Johnson has scored 14 td in last 3 games. Yes I know the defense they faced wasn't as good as Boyle. But you can see how it opens things up for the run. Having a passing threat is great which everyone already knows.

I don't really know if Mercer is better than Danville because I haven't seen Danville play. I myself would have to see Danville play before I say anything about that.

Lol I really don't care. I'm just excited about the game Friday. It doesn't get any better. Two teams with a lot on the line. So I'm sure both teams will brin their A game. Then with the added Pardue was coach at Boyle. Just makes it that much better.

I know Pardue really wants the game bad. Mercer is a good team and should not be takin lightly. If not for a couple of plays the record could be different. I am going with the rebels this week just because of the tradition. I also think that this could come down to who has the ball last. I have helped with the Rebels for 20 years and graduated from Boyle. Now I have two boys that go to Mercer so I would love to see both win. I guess it is a good that thing that I have to be in a wedding this weekend and will miss the game. The Groom and Bride are also Mercer graduates ( you would think they could have gotten married on a different weekend).

If they play focused and with energy, Danville is better thanBCHS already proven this year and would probably beat Mercer. As frustrated as I get with Danville's play, the initial question you asked will bring a response.

They may be playing better right now. Danville has been playing way below their ability. To be honest I was basing my decision on Mercer>Danville on Drew Davis and what he brings to the Mercer offense.

Thats your opinion and your entitled to it. Thats usually what people say though when they lose and it bothers them. Boyle County is not the team they have been in the past, their defense is the weakest I have seen from a Boyle team in years. Example Lex. Cath. with second string QB dominates Boyles defense in the second half of that game and loses the district title. When Danville is clicking, which they aren't right now , neither is Boyle I don't think BCHS is better even 6/10 games better. They will have to wait til next year to see if they can better Danville, because one shot a year is all you get.:popcorn:

The Danville loss didn't bother me. Surprised me but didn't bother me. I'll always root for Boyle but my kid graduated last year so I am not as emotionally attached to the games like I once was. Always a Rebel but not bothered. Just keeping it real. Boyle was outcoached and outlasted against Danville. Danville won the battle in the trenches that night. Danville won that game by not allowing Devonte to throw the ball anymore and pounding it down Boyle's throat. Keeping the ball a majority of the 3rd quarter helped also. Danville did what they needed to do to win the game and they did. Tip of the cap. And yes, Boyle will have to wait until next year to get revenge. That's the way it goes. I still think Boyle wins 6 of 10 against Danville.

 

Boyle didn't get dominated by LexCath's second string QB. Their inability to stop the LexCath running game did them in. The second string QB had one good pass and that was it. I'm not even certain he completed more than 7 passes. Their RBs did the heavy lifting.

After the Danville game is over, I'll pull for the Rebels, I picked them to beat Mercer and think they will handily. But I am Admiral Blue thru and thru and am a lot more emotionaly attached than I should be, its just the way I am wired. I grewup watching Danville, Played for them 4 years and will critisize lack of effort but defend them at the slightest sign of any negatives or challenging comments that are not true Admiral supporters.
