Well I guess I'm kidding myself then because they could help this year. Not saying game changers but like you said contribute. Boyle middle don't have nothing. Yes middle school success doesn't carry over to high school but look at the coaches that they came too. Coach Mason really killed the kids spirits by showing favoritism and Coach Raines unlike what I thought really looked like he didn't care as much for them either. Coach Pardue has this team moving forward and with the kids down at the middle school level playing the way they are now, they will only grow and have more fight and pride in them then the teams have had the last 3 years.

And that's funny because Sparrow was practicing with the JV last Wednesday.

LOL!! Ok!! Remember Mercer Middle has owned Boyle County. The players didn't believe that they could win. They had Lex Cath down going into the fourth and they were waiting on them to score and when they did Mercer quit then. These kids are showing that they can compete with Boyle. Apparently you haven't seen our middle school team this year Country. I invite you over to the high school field Tuesday night. We easily have 3-4 if not more that can come up and help the Varsity this year. Don't put too much pressure on your kids.

Also Mercer does have a JV kicker but he is currently hurt and they don't have a backup kicker.

And also if my memory is correct Sparrow practices with the JV and also takes snaps as scout team during practice. No excuses!!!

That game could be both ways. Yes Robbins and Hoskins do play alot of varsity and so did Sparrow. If Drew and Braxton did play a lot of JV and got hurt then the Mercer people would be complaining about why they were on the field because they have been a big help to the varsity. Nighthawk I'm a huge Mercer fan as people should know looking at my post on the Boyle/ Mercer prediction post. I wouldn't want them playing JV and risking injury. Me personally think it is wrong for Robbins to have that much playing time on varsity and playing JV and freshman but that is up to Boyle and their coaches. Just be happy that the team didn't lay down like the varsity did and showed that they know how to fight until the end. Good game Rebels and congrats on the win. Hope to see more great games like that in the future. I apologize for sour grapes from nighthawk.

I don't really know if Mercer is better than Danville because I haven't seen Danville play. I myself would have to see Danville play before I say anything about that.

Let's face some more true facts. Boyle and Mercer both run the same schemes. It's going to come down to who executes and who has more PRIDE and HEART!!

Interesting comments PurplePride92. I'll believe the Chuck Smith rumors when I see Chuck Smith hisself on the Mercer sideline. As for your interception comment that is a good statement too. Mercer does have 19 interceptions as a team if my stats are correct lead by Russell Sims who has 6. Chris Goodman, Darion Lewis, and Layne Peavler each has 2 with 7 others having one. The loss of Jordan Ellery has hurt us both defensively and offensively also. Dylan Logue has stepped up his game since the injury to Ellery. I'm pretty sure Coach Pardue and Coach Miller( who also was with Pardue at Boyle County and currently on the Mercer staff) wants this one a lot more then any players for either Boyle or Mercer wants it. Mercer knows its senior night also and loves to have the oppertunity to spoil the night for them.

The only thing I'm worried about is Mercer being mentally focused. Not making the stupid penalties like they have the past couple of games. That will be where Mercer will lose. Boyle won't make those mistakes.

Mercer did have more rushing yards against LexCath than Boyle did and Mercer didn't have a passing game that game either. LexCath had more rushing yards on Boyle than they did on Mercer. Mercer gave up a lot of the rushing yards in the fourth quarter. Mercer is also a better road team than what people think. Bolin played all of the Mercer game and half of the Boyle game do yes LexCath would run more then.

Yeah Tanner will be there next year. Right now he's focused on middle school though. Drew has been impressive though for a freshman in my book. I think he's over half way to 1000 yards passing in those two games. I don't care who the teams are thats impressive to me.

Well it makes me feel good that someone is noticing the changes here at Mercer. They have a staff that finally believes in the players and that makes a whole lot of difference. They have the players attention. Yes Taylor shouldn't have but they scored quick and I believe they let their guard down. This is a rivalry game. They won't let their guard down this time. Like I said Boyle will play with heart and pride and for the tradition that has been built. Mercer has the talent to compete and also beat them this year. They have to play Friday with pride and heart also and they will. Drew has helped the passing game now. Even though he has played two games and even though those two teams wasn't that good defensively he has gotten the freshman jitters out.

Lol keep on overlooking the Titans. I'll take Mercer. Got a feeling James Johnson will have a field day. I'll give credit though Boyle will be a tough challenge cause it's Boyle. Alot of pride and tradition there that the players play with and for. Mercer WILL be ready. LET'S GO TITANS!!! See ya Friday.

True but you have a sophmore at qb that hasnt had varsity time or that much varsity time. He is young and probably got a little triggery in the pocket. The qb is probably the main position in this offense. He will learn from this game.

Mercer dug theirselves in a hole early in that game and couldn't get out. Collins scored then did an onside kick which took Mercer by surprise and scored on that drive. On the next kickoff Mercer fumbled inside their own 20 and Collins scored and the next kickoff was the same as the one before. They were down 28-0 in no time. Mercer is young and its going to take some time. I'm still staying positive that we are going to have a good year.

I'm pretty sure all parents know that. If you go and watch them practice you can see that as well. As long as they improve I'm confident that the parents won't say anything. The last couple of years there hasn't been any improvment what so ever so the parents did say something. We all know the talent is there and have been waiting for a coach like Rains to get here. I see nothing but a very bright future for the Titans.

Its official now. The scrimmage this week is on Thursday against Central Hardin. It starts at 6:30

I'm still waiting on a reply about the scrimmage next week.

As posted G will be a defensive player. If anything was to happen to JT i look for Alex to come in since he is an upperclassman and through spring ball he was the QB. Russell is looking great from what im hearing from people thats been to the 7 on 7 but at the same time that isnt real football. Darion Lewis and Isaiah both can be very deadly in this style of offense but they both have a history of dropping passes when full contact comes around (hint hint). Layne Peavler looked really good against Danville in the 7 on 7 also but with his height and weight who really knows what kind and how many hits he can take. Aaron Miller is also looking very good. He has nice hands and is quick and also has height. They have went to full contact practices so i will try to keep you updated Purple.
