Hope this is just a speed bump for mercer, but if they just play with the intesity and focus we saw last night then its going to be a long season for the titans

My oh my how far Mercer has fallen since their inaugural season. Their other programs seem to have gotten a little stronger while football has taken a major step back. Any insight on why this has happened?

Coach R will get them back up. I too am surprised by this score though. Keep working Titans.

8 turnovers by Mercer was word I got several of them in bad places, is this true? Any other details welcome?

Watched the game. Mercer is just not very good. Don't have much fight in them. I think Raines can build something there. Won't be this year.

Two fumbles on kickoff returns set up Collins in REALLY good field position. Plus, Collins looked like a good team. I thought their quarterback was really good and they played solid defense.

Mercer dug theirselves in a hole early in that game and couldn't get out. Collins scored then did an onside kick which took Mercer by surprise and scored on that drive. On the next kickoff Mercer fumbled inside their own 20 and Collins scored and the next kickoff was the same as the one before. They were down 28-0 in no time. Mercer is young and its going to take some time. I'm still staying positive that we are going to have a good year.

Young? How many seniors they have starting? I agree with you on the turnovers, but I am not buying the youth excuse. They have a lot of seniors that have played significant minutes as sophomores and juniors.

True but you have a sophmore at qb that hasnt had varsity time or that much varsity time. He is young and probably got a little triggery in the pocket. The qb is probably the main position in this offense. He will learn from this game.

Mercer's problems are not with the QB or skill guys. Their issues are on the oline and dline. It was that way the last couple of years and i didn't see anything out there on Saturday that would lead me to think anything has gotten significantly better. They have some guys that can make some things happen but they are just subpar up front and it is glaring.

very very strong point spread o. He had hardly any time to get the ball off, and he was rushed on almost ever throw.

Got word on the game they did have at least 7 turnovers if you count the onside kick they didnt cover, as far as skill kids or lineman not being the problem??? Didn't see the game, but.....56-13 loss takes 11. Unless the lineman, fumbled or threw pics??? I think it all goes hand in hand, I think this team will get better each week. Looks like there is a lot of work to be done!

Coach Lucas will always have a great offense and he will always develop a quality QB for his offense. Collins is lucky to have him at the helm.
