Top players - under the radar

Featured Replies

Vories out of Highlands is always forgotten in these types of things. One of the quickest first steps in the state and averaging 18 ppg

Caleb Fetters Lee County. Can score, a-one defensive player, and can jump out of the gym.

Buckner from Eastern, he is something special

I totally agree. I don't know what else he has to do to get respect. Hopefully after his stellar performance in the LIT he will get some.

Preston Knowles and Tristian Jones from GRC in the 10th.

The Wight boy is from Bellevue... great guard who has been starting since the 9th grade. If the Moore kid would have stayed at Bellevue, they would have had a better team this year.... Kilgore, Whight, Moore????, that would have been a good guard combination.

Southwestern's Dustin Fothergill is having a good senior season.. He's going to be a steal for someone at the next level...

I've enjoyed watching him for a couple years now. What I can't figure out is why he never got his growth spurt to get him a bit closer to Mark's height.

While I'm not sure he qualifies as a "top player" yet, I've been impressed with Gill, a Junior from Russell. This is his first year of varsity basketball and he's almost averaging a double double and is 2nd in the 16th Region in Field goal %. He's had strong games against good competion like Fern Creek, Seneca, Brossart, and Scott HS. He's not one of Russells big three (Vanhoose, Blair, and Clark) but has improved dramatically as the year as gone on. If he improves as much as a Senior as he has as a Junior, he will be a "top player"

He's a young senior.. He still may grow an inch or two but he will never reach his dad's height...

I agree.

I also agree that fetters has improved tremendously.

in the 15th region i would say also that robert gannon and charlie hunt, the boys from phelps, are as good as any. again a small school with players who are overlooked and very under rated.

I agree eventhough both are having great seasons they are not getting alot of pub like they would if they lived in Lexington or Louisville.

I would say Franklin Daugherty he is averaging a double double at Walton and because he goes to a small school he is forced to play the five spot when he is really a three or four. He also plays great post defense against guys that are usually taller.
