Momentum from last week's big win over Russell obviously carried over for the Royals. Complete domination over a very young and outmanned Comets squad. Mason County equally effective through the air and on the ground. This one was 49-0 with about 4 minutes gone in the 3rd quarter.

Next up - huge rivalry game at Fleming County next Friday. Home-field playoff berths on the line.

Mason scored on their first offensive play and never looked back!!

I hope we can slow them down some next week, but they are on a roll right now.

Royals certainly have gotten things on track from the first couple of games. Big BIG game next week against Fleming.

The 4th quarter of tonight's game being what it was - mop-up time - Mason County has put together their best 5 consecutive quarters of football in a month of Sundays. Next week's game should be a dandy.

If the weather is decent, papa will be there. If not, he will be listening to the dulcet tones of Danny Weddle.

Thanks for the kind words. It is fun to have some success again. We have had some tough times over the past two seasons. I am very proud of our kids and coaches for hanging in there. It's tough to show up for 6:30 am practice on a school day, be pushed in practice and all the things that go with getting better when you have lost 7 games in a row like we had.

West Carter is like us this time last year- very good players that are also very young. Braden Brown is an outstanding QB and will do a great job for the Comets these next 3 seasons. He is a tough kid from a great family. He will weather these tough times and be that much better and stronger down the road- much like our QB Jake O'Mara who started for us as a freshman and the rest of our young kids that have battled the past two seasons.

We won't be facing a freshman QB Friday night in Desmond Adams at Fleming. Outstanding football player. We will have to play extremely well, but I am excited for both our programs that after so many tough games the past two seasons, our kids get to play for the district title Friday night.

To all those kids whose senior season is winding down, enjoy every snap while you can. You will be an old man like ChiefSmoke before you know it.

Desmond McAdams is the Fleming QB. Typo.
