October 23, 201213 yr Author I want to start this by saying it's not a good idea to start questioning a show about Zombies. That said I'm having a bit of a hard time with the fact that the world got to the point it is. I mean the 9 year old boy killed 3 of them on his own on his way to get band aids. How the heck did they take out the majority of the population? I thought of this as I started re-reading the comics the other night. Certainly a good question, but the one answer that I came up with that seemed the most plausible was not knowing how to effectively kill them until they had grown to be too numerous.
October 23, 201213 yr ...not knowing how to effectively kill them.... Like the prisoners giving the walkers a beat down. :lol: Though it was funny how one prisoner held the walker while the other was punching him in the stomach, and the walker is still snarling at him.

I think it's plausible that a 12yr. old can effectively contribute/kill the zombies. He isn't the 12yr. old we see on a normal basis. He has grown up in a world that requires you to either adapt or die. I still think he is very vulnerable and capable of being killed at any time, just like everyone else. I think he is going to get a couple close calls in the coming episodes to remind him that he isn't a man yet IMO. But he isn't the same kid that was scared to shoot the walker stuck in the mud. Him feeling like he is partially responsible for Dale's death and then seeing Rick kill Shane were huge in his character development. I'd also like to say that I am not a Carl homer. I wanted him dead last season just like everyone else. Couldn't stand the kid. But I like where they are going with him so far.

The comics very much make this story a father-son centered one. I'm thinking (and hoping) the television show maintains that aspect. Basically, I mean I hope they kill Lori. :lol:
October 23, 201213 yr I believe a lot of people didn't know how to kill them plus you have to think about the regular people that are dying from whatever causes which contributes to the growing number of walkers. It's plausible to see how the number grew so quickly.

I just think they could have made them a little tougher is all. They move like a 110 year old arthritic patient. It's like trying to fight your way out of a rest home. They should of made them more like the zombies in The Living Dead.

I agree that once they're figured out, zombies don't seem all that formidable unless traveling in a hoard. What is interesting is that in the comics, at least from my perspective, the zombies end up becoming a dangerous nuisance but a nuisance that can be controlled (for the most part). The greatest threat at this point in the comic book storyline are the humans who take advantage of a world in disorder.
October 23, 201213 yr The book World War Z deals with the issue of how an outbreak starts, the panic the world is thrown in, and the things people do survive and overcome. It parallels many of the principles that are happening on the show now. However; there are no lines for T-Dog in the book either.......
