Jumper_Dad Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 I know it's early, but who will be meeting January 7th in Miami Florida? Current Undefeated teams Notre Dame, WVU, Oregon, Alabama, Kansas St., South Carolina, Florida, Louisville or other undefeated team. One loss teams Southern California, Texas, LSU, Oklahoma, Florida St, Georgia or other one loss team. Looking forward everybody seems to have games against ranked teams and key arch rivals still to go.
Jumper_Dad Posted October 8, 2012 Author Posted October 8, 2012 Right now I would go with Alabama and Oregon. Bama has at least 2 wars left at LSU and in Iron Bowl then if they win both the SEC Championship game against Florida or South Carolina. That's 2 games left against teams in the current top 8. Oregon has 3 games against top 20 teams prior to Conf Championship game...neither team has a cake walk this season but if they meet each other they will have definitely have earned it.
hrcarrier Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 Very tough to predict; as of now it looks like many teams have potential. This season is going to be very interesting to see how it ends.
sports fan Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 And of course there is that other one-loss team from the Bluegrass (whose only loss was on the road to the #1 team in the land)...
born2reign Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 The top 2 teams, Alabama and Oregon, look like thy are unbeatable. They will need to have an off week to go down. Notre Dame will probably be favored in the rest of their games until they play USC at the Colliseum. It will be interesting to see what happens if ND goes undefeated along with Alabama and Oregon.
sportsfan41 Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 Still too early. I think one of the teams in will be undefeated but not sure if both will be, WVU and Kansas State play on the 20th so that will eliminate one of them. ND has a very tough schedule remaining, Florida plays South Carolina so that should take care of one of those two plus South Carolina plays LSU this weekend. I think we will have a pretty good picture around October 21st.
sportsfan41 Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 I think ND had a tougher schedule than Oregon but ND started unranked so that will hurt them. If ND, Bama and Oregon go undefeated then I think it's Bama and Oregon in the BCS game with a lot of angry people ticked about ND not getting in. I don't think that scenario will happen though.

Which honestly Notre Dame fans would have a right to be angry. Which goes to show preseason rankings are a waste, because since people's opinions were that Notre Dame was not a top 25 team before the season. It could cost them a chance say if all three Notre Dame, Bama, and Oregon were undefeated. If there were no rankings before the season, and the rankings were just based on the season alone and came out say after week 3. Notre Dame could be in front of Oregon right now based on the body of work for this season. With that said Notre Dame and Oregon both have tough remaining schedules. So a good chance one of them if not both lose a game a long the way.
Clyde Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 I've lost track. When does it to go 4 teams for the championship series?
futurecoach Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 I've lost track. When does it to go 4 teams for the championship series? 2014 I believe? Which I may be wrong on that, because I am not for sure either.
sportsfan41 Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 Florida vs Oregon I just don't see Florida having the offense to put up enough points against Alabama. I could see that being a 38-14 game if the two played.

Oregon fans will be screaming...because Notre Dame will leapfrog them at the end to play for the title...NO WAY an undefeated ND doesn't get to play for the title, even if it means Papal intervention.

I disagree. PAC 12 has a title game, so Oregon will have "last licks", so to speak. Oregon will play a ranked team in that game and leap frog ND if ND passes them.
