Wireman it'd been nice to meet ya. I was at the game as well. And I agree I was very let down by Danville. Somerset's D was rock solid though.

Proud of the Jumpers to pull it together and win under tough circumstances. Brycen Jones wore the #20 jersey in honor of Will Hinton and Devin Griffith wore #25 for Jacobi Gilmore.

Congratulations to Somerset on the big win. I thought that the Ads may have been capable of winning, but according to what I've read, it sounds like the Jumpers are still well ahead.

Will Lange is actually one of the fastest players on the team and ran the 100 meters at the State Track Meet last year.

My point is Danville has enough speed, that as long as that play developed into him turning the corner and going up the side line there should have been 3-4 defensive players getting to the ball with good pursuit angles and preventing the 1st down much less a touch down. I think instead of playing agressive defense DHS had to many spectators watching waiting for somebody else to make the tackle on that play. Coach Lucas is a good coach and it shows on the field with the way his team plays inspired and execution of a good game plan. I wished I could say the same for DHS.

I was really worried about how Somerset would come out in this game with all of the emotion of the previous 24 hours. The Jumpers came out and set the tone on D right away and never let up. Completely dominated the first half holding Danville to less than 20 yards total offense.

Huge win for Jumpers. Didn't see the 35 pts. some posters were saying Danville would put up. I don't think anyone in 2A can put up 35 on Jumpers. Great Game play for Jumpers. The whole Def. is to be commended. Go Jumpers.

Well our annual regular season beatdown to SHS has come and gone once again. There is not much too say about this game except it was total domination by a better football team. To not have any more fight than the Ads displayed is disheartening to say the least. There just isn't enough heart on this Ads team right now and that will have to change quick if this season is going to mean anything.

 

We had not witnessed a performance like this the whole season and I am trying to believe they can redeem themselves. I just don't know if there are enough players that care enough or if the coaches are willing to make the changes necessary to win big games like these.

 

Coaches are supposed to put their players in the best position to win. So perhaps lining up in punt formation every offensive play is the answer. Afterall that it did produce our longest run from scrimmage on the night.

Has there been a turnover in Asst Coaches compared to whowas there 7-8 years ago? I know a lot of people get down on the HC but they can't do it all.

The HC (Harp) can't do it all but come on! In the past I thought assitants might be the problem, but I've come to realize that more is on Harp. Last year at Somerset the ADS started out well. SHS adjusted and stuffed the ADS, but Harp never does anything different, keeps running same plays, no adjustments, Have some imagination the week before the game, He knows how good Somerset D is. Danville's D soft, have some heart, What happened to the team that beat Boyle County? At least in that game they played with emotion and effort.

I just read Coach Harp's response to the game in the on line advocate paper. He took most of the blame. Good. Stated some other things going on, O.K., He said he hasn't given up on the team, neither have I and I'm quite sure he could care less what I think. But he has to find a way to light a fire under this team and get them back playing with energy and fire and just maybe they can play well enough to earn a rematch with the Briar Jumpers in the playoffs. I think SHS has to be favored to win it all at this point.

No one of any significance that I can think of other than at one time Marty Jaggers was on this staff. Coach Harp and Coach Perry have been a duo for several years now. Coach Perry had some really good temas at Garrard County back in the day. He started with Sam, left and came back three or so Garrard coaches ago.

That's the sad thing. You just recycle the Playbook and score on the same plays as the game before.
