I didn't see a single sign of passion out of Danville until early in the third quarter. How do you not get up for a game that essentially determines the district champion?

Offensively the Ads appeared to be too predictable. While that may save the aggravation of film exchange, it reduces the offense to nothing more than a scout team. They might as well just invite the defensive captain into the huddle. Heck, just shout out some numbers or random colors prior to the snap. At least you can make the defense think there might be a play change.

 

At the end of the day I am an optimist. I did see a glimmer of hope in the second half. If the Ads can regain their focus, make some adjustments, find some heart, and stop giving up big plays, they can at least challenge the Jumpers in November. Now that is a lot to do, but at this point that is all the Ads can ask for. If nothing else they say familiarty breeds contempt. Maybe the Jumpers will be looking a week ahead. It's hard to beat a team six times in a row, isn't it?

Especially when you have had two weeks and four previous losses to think about it.

It doesn't take much imagination when the other teams defense is just standing up and getting taken where ever the blocker wants to go. Danville needs to start practicing attack defense instead of react defense, fight off blocks and disrupt plays, not just stand up and get blocked with ease. In the second half some of the line backers got more aggressive and made some plays. They also need to focus on getting 11 men to the ball every play, that should cut down on those ridiculous long TD runs that Somerset ripped off Friday night.
