I agree. I usually don't think it's very many. However, it's different when things are going so badly 2 months in that anyone that has ever had a good season is dealt. It's impossible to know anyway. It's even more impossible with a fire sale.
Josh Johnson, Jose Reyes, Giancarlo Stanton...

Miami. So much money spent... new player contracts, a new stadium... no way to look at this season in Miami as anything other than a complete disaster.

Red Sox. They blamed Francona and everyone thought someone else running the clubhouse would change their fate. What they weren't willing to admit is that they aren't that good of players anymore.

A close second is Big Green Horse. Complete and total disappointment.

Thanks for the belly laugh!

I would go with the Marlins. The Phillies, you could see it coming with a good chunk of the offense starting to show its age. The Angels also had offensive issues at some big-bat positions. Boston, as AJG said, were decimated by injuries and poor seasons from Lester and Beckett.

I believe the Phillies are the biggest dissapointment. With pitching like that I'd imagine they would be in the playoffs for sure.

Whoever said the Red Sox weren't picked to win isn't paying attention. Nearly every analyst on the MLB Network picked the Red Sox to have a great season because of Bobby V, even Sean Casey.

My biggest disappointment this year isn't a team really but honestly its the stupid 1-game playoff rule for the WC. Why is this necessary? It is completely unneeded. There is a 162 game season to help determine who should and shouldn't make the playoffs. We don't need one more game to decide who is in the final four. Bud Selig's ideas leave me scratching my head sometimes.

As for a "team" it is without a dobut IMO the LA Angels. All those signings and then trades during the season and they completely miss the playoffs while the lowly A's manage to win the division. Not bashing the A's at all but its pretty clear that the Angels underachieved massively this year.

I think the Angels were overrated from the start, thanks to some offensive issues. Vernon Wells is the worst contract in baseball, and there were big questions about a couple of outfield spots, where there are supposed to be big hitters. The bullpen woes cost them dearly, too.

Maybe on MLB network but most analysts and publications had them 3rd in the AL East behind the Yankees and Rays and out of the Wild Card behind the Angels as well. Had they not set a record for number of players placed on the DL during the season they could have put together a winning record but coming into this season I didn't expect much more than that.
