Great win for the Cougars. Cooper helped the cause when the team came to the Conner sidelines to run through their cheerleader banner. Bush league. Run out of the end zone like everyone else. That intimidation tactic kind of backfired. Fueled the fire. Maybe next game they will stay on their own side.

 

No one got kicked the head. Helmets need to be strapped for protection not comfort. Refs called the foul to get control back. Conner played with fire and was very aggressive. Learn the difference between dirty and aggressive.

First off, there was no flag thrown and that is what I am questioning. Read my posts before going off like you just did. I said i could care less if a flag was thrown on Cooper or not, but one should of been thrown period.

 

Secondly, his helmet was off, it was ripped off his head under the pile so I have no clue what you are talking about.

 

Thirdly, there is a difference between dirty and aggressive, you may need to learn the difference.

 

Now again, as I already stated, I wouldn't of cared if a flag was thrown against Cooper, to me it doesn't matter. What does matter is that the officials take control of the game before it gets out of hand and someone gets hurt.

So do me a favor and don't be so defensive. It's about players safety period, if you don't understand that then I can't help you.

Cooper cant wait till the 3rd quarter to start playing ! Conner has alot of speed . Was very surprised that Cooper stayed in the same D all night . Looked like they did some blitzing in the 4th but was to late . Hope these teams meet again .

Agree with queen of pink here. I think the Cooper players coming to the Conner side of the field to run through the cheerleaders was total bush league. That move was uncalled for the and definitely didn't work..

 

I would expect to hear things about the officiating from the Cooper faithful, because their team got beat. Conner has never been a dirty team, and wasn't tonight. They played physical and aggressive. They not only beat Cooper on the score board, but they beat them up with their play. The Cooper boys will be sore tomorrow.

I wasn't at the game last week, but I was standing with one of your Conner parents during the entire game and he told me one of your players got called for a personal foul near the end of the game last week, helmet to helmet hit on an incomplete pass. Someone is a little testy tonight.. Calm down buddy, a flag wasn't thrown because there really wasn't a penalty committed. The kids helmet wasn't ripped off under a pile, there wasn't even a pile, the kid was standing up.. The pushing and shoving was quickly stopped, nobody was kicked. And your point about player safety.. The helmet needs to be strapped on tight, so it doesn't come off.

I like when the kids get a little pushy and shoving , that makes it fun !!!

There were no flags thrown because what you mentioned is not what happened. I'll explain it as clearly as it happened.. Nobody kicked anyone.. If two players both kicked someone in the head they would have been thrown out of the game. Yes there was some pushing and shoving, initiated by Cooper, I will add, but there were no punches thrown, and most certainly no kicks.. I had a clear line of sight to the incident, because I was standing in the bleachers on the Conner side of the field. It happened right in front of me.

 

And that "score" that you are scratching your head over.. The Cooper player's knee was down before he reached the ball towards the goal line. They got that call right. At first I thought they may have called a fumble, but his knee was clearly down before the ball crossed the goal line, and before it came out.

You talk about bush league, is it bush league when a player is hurt on the field to not have your players show any respect and kneel down to wait to see if he is alright as the medical staff is on the field checking on him? That happened three times tonight with Cooper players down hurt and not one time did Conner players take a knee. It may not be the definition of Bush league, but it is the definition of classless.

Now if they were cheering, and high fiving, that would be classless. They huddled on the numbers, like your supposed to, got water, and waited for the kid to walk off the field. Oh brother! Don't get me started on the taking a knee thing. That is a girls soccer thing that somehow found its way onto the football field. Be mindful that a player is injured. Be respectful. But you do not have to take a knee. Coaches can coach, players can listen even while a player is hurt. It is not bush league. It is football. Sorry, if that is not politically correct, but it is the truth.

Hey listen, I am not going to turn this thread into something you are wanting it to go so I will say this.

 

The game was well played by Conner and they definately deserved the win. They were by far the better team tonight. I thought Fogle and Barker were outstanding.

 

I'm not taking this thread into a bickering match, you should be very happy with the win, it was well deserved.

 

The season is going to get real interesting now and I wish both teams the best of luck the rest of the way.
