They haven't played the strongest schedule in the world, but I think Bourbon County is top five.

Breathitt still too high....Belfry too low

Which one(s) of the top 5 do you think Bourbon could beat? And why?

^ Tilghman.

Mainly because Tilghman has proven to be turnover prone in its two losses (7 total, I believe) & Bourbon has forced opponents into a lot of TO's (14, I think). As I said, the Colonels haven't played a very difficult schedule, but I think in a matchup between the two, that favors Bourbon County. Additionally, I feel like the Colonels offense is very high-powered.

I'm curious to see how Bourbon fares against some tougher competition, particularly how opposing defenses would handle Hopkins.

14 takeaways is really impressive. I hope to get a chance to see Hopkins play this year.

How do you get that? Breathitt is undefeated and just beat two very good teams. Hazard coming off a State Championship in 2011 and Somerset who is coming off a Regional Championship loss last year. Breathitt is fine right where they are JMO. 3 and 4 can be switched around. If what I'm hearing is true, then next year we'll get to see a Belfry/Harlan County showdown

I hope to get a chance to see Hopkins play this year.

Same here.

For one thing, Tilghman's losses were to Mayfield, which may be second only to Louisville Central in the lower three classes, and Graves County, which was ranked in 5A at the time. In the Graves game, Tilghman threw the ball 30-plus times (and picked off three times) because the starting quarterback, maybe their best running threat, was playing with a strained MCL.

Tilghman also just gained the services of a very talented back and receiver, a game-breaker type that transferred in from Lone Oak.

Bourbon has forced a lot of turnovers, but as you said, not against the toughest schedule.

Who is this guy? Grade? Size? Why is he just now playing? Was he ruled ineligible until now, or just got approved to play after the transfer. How did he do for LO last year?

Joeshawn Starks ... hasn't played since 2010, but very talented.

Nice info! :thumb:

Regarding the talented Lone Oak back...he hasn't played any this season?

Didn't play in 2011 ... transferred to Tilghman over the summer. Didn't get ruled eligible until a few weeks ago.
