I saw a poll in the last week on healthcare and one interesting number to me was 61% of Americans do not want Obamacare repealed. There are parts of the law that about half the people don't like, but they just want those parts fixed and they do not want the law overturned.

Bottom line, Obama was elected in big part because people wanted healthcare reform and that poll number tells me that most people still want healthcare reform. I am in favor of keeping Obamacare and making the necessary tweaks and changes as it rolls out. If we repeal Obamacare, it may be another 20 years before we get healthcare reform back in place.

I would say that most of the regular posters in here know more about the bill then 91% of the population.

 

Over coarse more want reform, I know I do. I just happen to believe Obamacare isn't the reform we need. And I disagree with it taking 20 years to get another bill if we repeal the ACA. I would just assume get it right from the start in regards to something this big and important. The tweak it as it rolls out is akin to let's pass so we know what's in it.

Why would you think that promise would be kept consider most of his others weren't.

 

Believe me, I didn't think he would keep his promise. For some reason, and believe me I don't understand it, he seems to have a spell over a lot of people. To me he is like a cross between the Pied Piper and The Wizard of Oz. He is not a very good speaker. He has a very sing song quality to his voice. And is very condescending in his speeches. He can say whatever he wants and people will defend him when it turns out not to be the truth. I guess there is something there, but I don't see it.

It was one of the top 3 or 4 issues he ran on. The top 3 issues in the last election were the economy, the war in Iraq and health care reform.

Now maybe this is not a good measure. Since good chunks of AHCA kicked in this year maybe we will see the savings in 2013.....

Of coarse the status quo is having 6 million citizens plus who knows how many illegals show up at emergency rooms for treatment, courtesy of the American Taxpayer, with no shared cost burder by the service recipients at all.
