September 20, 201214 yr Interesting read here. Let's keep the discussion blue chip so PepRock can read it. Tax penalty to hit nearly 6M uninsured people - Yahoo! News
September 20, 201214 yr Author The fact that Obama blatantly made a blanket statement that the middle class would feel no tax burden was simply a fabrication.
September 20, 201214 yr Here's my favorite part: A spokeswoman for the Obama administration said 98 percent of Americans will not be affected by the tax penalty — and suggested that those who will be should face up to their civic responsibilities. In other words, do your fair share. My apologies to Peprock.
September 20, 201214 yr I liked the way President Obama said it wasn't a tax, it wasn't a tax, it wasn't a tax and so on. Then he and his attorneys found out that, being a tax is the only way it would be found constitutional. His original promise is that the middle class would not receive higher taxes, not even a dime. I guess this is another version of "read my lips....."

To all those who aren't paying for coverage and stick us with their bills, I am tired of paying your health insurance and medical bills. Put your money in like the rest of us. This is my favorite part of Obamacare. Make everyone pay and costs are going to come down for all of us who have been paying all along.

Another option would be to quit providing care to them. They know the risks of not having insurance. They have a choice. Get coverage, pay for care up front, or don't get care.
September 20, 201214 yr Another option would be to quit providing care to them. They know the risks of not having insurance. They have a choice. Get coverage, pay for care up front, or don't get care. That will never happen. No hospital is going to risk the bad publicity they will get from refusing to care for a person in need. They will provide the care and the expense eventually gets passed on to us, the paying customers.

We are still 13 months out from this taking shape and people are starting to find out what it really is. Should be interesting.
September 20, 201214 yr I read this yesterday in a seperate article that also stated that the original prediction of 4 million effected now the number is up to 6 million. I guess 2 million isn't a lot of people(votes).....

Should be interesting. Employers will be dropping Health Care rapidly. That is why most businesses were for this - and are still for this. They will whine and cry in public but strategically this gets them out of a big headache for them.
September 20, 201214 yr I saw a poll in the last week on healthcare and one interesting number to me was 61% of Americans do not want Obamacare repealed. There are parts of the law that about half the people don't like, but they just want those parts fixed and they do not want the law overturned.

That may look like a good idea on paper, but when they have trouble getting good employees they may change their mind. I would not work for a company that doesn't offer health insurance.

I would not work for a company that doesn't offer health insurance. They can drop the coverage, raise pay a little, have zero problems finding employees and still save a ton of cash. Eventually most if not all will quit offering it and Obama gets his single payer system.
