Holy Cross has no one to match-up with CovCath's talent.

That's one of the most uneducated comments I've ever read. Have you ever seen the two teams play? (Unless by talent you meant Todd Jacobs and Todd Jacobs only)

How so? Timmy is quick and strong, Kurt is a two-sport star, Schult is versatile for a big guy, and Todd is Todd. Off the bench Cahill, Brown, and Landrum are all relatively athletic. Overall I would say CCH has the edge.

 

HC plays essentially 4 guards and an athletic player at 5. You can make individual comparisons but I'm talking collectively. Schult and Stick are not as athletic (in the traditional sense) as any of the 5 HC will put on the floor. That's not a bad thing. Its just a notation.

The outcome of this game will depend soley on which HC team shows up.

 

IF HC plays like they have most the year where they spread the ball around and multiple people are hitting 3's and they are able to hit their free throws. Then they have a shot to win this game. If they shoot from the field and the stripe like they did against Holmes it could be another long night.

 

This is the first time in a long time when you play a Holy Cross team, you essentialy have to guard everyone on the floor but the center behind the 3pt line. Everyone on the floor for HC at most points can hurt from deep.

Isn't that what you said 2 seasons ago, and last season? I seem to remember you saying the same thing with Bibbins, Ryan, Wessling, Mando, Steenken & company.

I think Dane will show people some things this game. A big X factor is if Jimmy ryan shows up and shoots the ball way he should. Maybe playing against ex teammates will light a fire.

Nope the difference with this team is you can't just focus on one player to stop the offense.

 

Since 2000 every HC team was defined by one player. 2000 and 2001 it was Josh Beiting. 2002 2003 Joe Stevie, 2004 and 2005 Scott Bibbins.

 

This team reminds me more of the 99 HC team. They have perimeter shooters every where, but no on who makes any body's list of top players, but yet they win alot of games.

 

AT the end of a ball game it will be hard to say who will take a last shot for this HC team. But I'd say the 6 seasons before this you knew who was getting the ball.

Not many people. If i was Holy Cross i would get all my student there at the start of JV so that the powerful student section of the Colonels doesnt come in full force.

While I would love to see it live, I have no intentions of getting to HC by 6pm to get a seat at the Ice Rink. Today with the temps in the upper 50's and with rain coming in late tonight, it will be a sauna inside and the floor will be in its usual, slippery as walking on Ice self....

 

Colonels bring those ice skates and don't forget to sharpen them good, that Ice could cause a lot of problems tonight.....
