September 10, 201214 yr Consider the economy, unemployment, and health care issues like it is. Would Romney win if he was Black and Obama was white? If both candidates were white, would Romney win? If both candidates were black, would Romney win?
September 10, 201214 yr I think their party should be taken into account and is more important IMO. I don't think a black republican Romney would be doing any worse or any better than the white republican Romney. I think a black republican Obama would already have this election in the bag. I think a white democrat Romney would equal a white republican Romney.
September 10, 201214 yr Author I don't take Party affiliation into account ever, I vote for whoever I think is the best.
September 10, 201214 yr I don't take Party affiliation into account ever, I vote for whoever I think is the best. I was taking about for your what ifs. You can't just take their skin color into account. Their party lines are more important in the outcome. Nobody cares about their skin tone when it comes to the issues.

Sort of agree, but this time as bad as the economy has been and is, Blacks are going to vote for Obama regardless, which I disagree with, it is about skin color this election to blacks. They want to keep a black man as President regardless of how bad he is.

They want to keep a black man as President regardless of how bad he is. Either that, or they agree with his policies. Take me for example. I am white, Masters Degree, employed, homeowner and I will vote for the President because I believe his policies are much better for the country over the next four years and beyond. I will vote for him because I believe that I am better off than I was four years ago and will be even better in four more years. I will vote for him because the country is better off than it was four years ago and will be even better in four more years. Notice that not once did I mention that he is black. I have no doubt that some people will vote for him because he is black. I also have no doubt that some people will vote against him for the same reason. In the end, I don't think it will matter much in this election. They will vote on the basis of the President's record and Gov Romneys statements about what he will do if elected.

This pretty much sums it up for me. I am white, retired, homeowner and am better off than I was four years ago and believe that I - AND THE COUNTRY - will be even better off in 2016 if the current President remains in office. Simple decision for me. I would use the term "black and white", but that would screw up the whole thing...
September 10, 201214 yr But do some people ignore the issues because of their skin color? Nobody you'd ever conversate with. Those folks don't engage in political discussion because they don't have a clue.

They want to keep a black man as President regardless of how bad he is. Naw, a large majority of blacks would vote for the democrat regardless. Don't get me wrong, Obama will bring out more blacks to the polls but if Biden, Hillary or any other white democrat was running blacks still would not vote for Romney. Blacks wouldn't vote for Condi Rice, Herman Cain, Michael Steele or JC Watts and those are black republicans.

Out of curiosity what policies do you like and why do you think the country will be better in 4 years? Anyone can answer not just Trinity Alum. I am not an Obama supporter but I am curious where the optimism is coming from, in other words what am I missing? I promise not to nit pick your answers.

As well as people that didnt vote for Obama just cause hes black? You cant be serious.
