The black support of the Democratic Party is one of the most baffling statistics of any I can think of in the current world today. Since 1964, blacks have favored Democrats by at least a whopping 75% of the popular vote, and as high as 92% (88% last election), far and away more than any other subcategory of charting votes.

 

I really don't understand it. The Democratic Party supports legislation and pinciples that are generally damaging to the black populace, yet their politicians continue to get their votes without doing any work at all. For example, the Democratic Party continually champions the rise in the mandatory minimum wage, which overtly tends to reduce the employment of unskilled or underskilled labor, and therefore massively impacts negatively the employment of young, black males in entry level jobs, as well as the Davis-Bacon Act, designed to require prevailing wages for government construction contracts, which was passed with the expressed purpose of preventing blacks competing with whites for those jobs. The Democratic Party also champions the resistance against school-choice programs, which leaves millions of black children trapped in crumbling inner-city schools without the recourse of their parents to advocate, and pay for, a school of their choice. Democrats also of course champion the school-admission affirmative action programs, which has resulted in the crippling effect of placing a lot of black college students in colleges they cannot compete in. For example, 50% of black law students finish in the bottom 10% of their classes, they are 2.5 times more likely not to graduate, and 4 times more likely not to pass the bar exam, then their white counterparts. I will not even get into the dependency roles created by Democratic championing of welfare, and the numbers and percentages of blacks vs. whites on those rolls.

 

The Democratic Party opposed Republican Abraham Lincoln's Emancipation Proclamation. The Democrats opposed the 13th Amendment outlawing slavery. The Democrats opposed the 14th Amendment guaranteeing equal protection of the law, and also opposed the 15th Amendment guaranteeing equal voting rights. Democrats opposed Teddy Roosevelt's anti-lynching legislation, and also filibustered a dozen other anti-lynching legislation items in the last century. Institutionalization of segreation? Jim Crow? Literacy tests? Poll taxes? All the work of the Democratic Party. Bull Connor, Lester Maddox, George Wallace? All Democrats. 1964 Civil Rights Act and 1965 Voting Rights Act that MLK and black leaders fought so hard for? More Republicans voted for those laws than Democrats did.

 

I simply do not understand it. Even culturally, the Democratic Party champions causes that local black culture finds abhorrent. Black culture still revolves heavily around the church leadership in the community, when Democrats do all they can to support their twisted version of separation and church and state. The Democratic Party champions gay rights. Proposition 8 passed in California largely due to the black vote, because of the generally-held belief that blacks do not support homosexual marriage.

 

To me, the continual support by blacks of the Democratic Party is like handing the guy raping your daughter a condom. This party fought against blacks for decade upon decade upon decade, and continues its mastery of them through handouts and ill-conceived legislation. A mere 5-10% reduction in the black vote would hand the GOP the election. If you are black, can you answer this baffling puzzle for me? Naw, a large majority of blacks would vote for the democrat regardless. Don't get me wrong, Obama will bring out more blacks to the polls but if Biden, Hillary or any other white democrat was running blacks still would not vote for Romney. Blacks wouldn't vote for Condi Rice, Herman Cain, Michael Steele or JC Watts and those are black republicans.
