This is intriguing to me though. I was on my way home from work and it was raining. A couple that looks older than me appeared to be broke down on the side of the road but their car was in a church entrance. They had the emergency flashers on and they both had their own umbrellas. I would have had to make a u-turn to see if they needed help and almost did so but then I thought what if it is a setup and kept on going. I started to feel guilty and even started to make another u-turn and chose against it. I figured they had umbrellas and should have had at least one cellphone and also thought they could have just gone in the church if they were that bad off. It was on Wednesday so people were at the church.

 

Your friend's predicament is why I never stop for anyone unless I know who you are.

That would be my suggestion. Call the police or do nothing. Not worth risking your life for someone you do not know.

The CCPD recently issued a Nixle alert regarding these types of incidents:

 

 

Possible scam occurring on I-471 and I-275.

 

People posing as disabled vehicles on the interstates and attempting to flag down passing motorists to help them. Once victim stops, they try to extort / steal money from the victim. Once they get the money, they leave the area. No description on vehicles or suspects.

 

Instructions:

Do not stop if you see an occupied disabled vehicle, call the police or Dispatch center to assist the disabled motorist. Dispatch Center in Campbell County can be reached at 859-292-3622.

Thanks for the heads up, it's sad that the police have to issue statements such as these. It's stuff like this that remind me of when I was little hearing old people at my grandpa's bar talking about how the whole worlds going to hell in a handbasket.

Glad he's in good spirits. He's right though, guy needs to find god because if he continues down this path he's not going to be around for long. Sunday school teacher used to always say don't go looking for trouble because eventually some will come your way, this guy is just setting himself up for failure.
