10 times played - LaSalle 9, CCH 1

I was there last night and honestly the level of talent is a huge difference. CCH tried but looked all out of sorts throughout. LaSalle was bigger, stronger, faster at every position. Their football over there is just a bit higher than what Cov Cath is used to in Ky.

Turnovers are part of the game. If Lasalle had a pick for a score and recovered a fumble for a score, that should say as much for there defense as it does for CCs lack of execution. Same with special teams. Give credit where credit's due. If Lasalle is indeed that much more athletic, you'd have to think they'd likely cause some turnovers and have a few big special team plays in every game they played them. Also, how many games would CC get a safety against them. Sounds to me like Lasalle is the type of team that relies on it's superior athleticism and big plays to win ballgames, with a defense that could improve against the pass, but, tightens up when teams get on there end of the field.

Even the Freshman that played for LaSalle? I mean Bir is a stud and LaSalle started a Freshman at QB. Not taking away what that young man has in the future but.... Also is the Larkin boy that's a Freshman any relation to the great Larkin family? Seems like those two young boys had a big part of the game.

The La Salle offense, other than scoring in the 1st quarter, did nothing against the CovCath "D"! Yes CovCath lost and yes giving up TO's and having the other teams score via the TO"S and on a punt return still kills you on the score board and you lose the game but the CovCath "D" stopped La Salle all night long!

But, even so, Lasalle scored 27 pts and even with as much offense as CC put up, they still only managed 9 offensive points. If they played 10 times, I have a feeling that in at least some of those games, the Lasalle offense would fair better, there defense would likely still cause some turnovers and there athleticism would probably still get them some big plays from the special teams, so, 21-27 pts would still be fair average of pts for them. I think CC would likely not have as many turnovers and probably be able to score a few more points in some of those games, too, but, I'd still say if they played 10 times, Lasalle would win at least 7, with an average of vistory somewhere in the 24 17 range.

Likely had a lot to do with being led by a frosh QB and the fact that the LaSalle offense didn't need to be on the field to score points. How many offensive plays did each team run? Efficiency and execution seemed to be issues for the Colonels. You can gain 500 yards all night long but putting it in the endzone wins games.
