September 3, 201214 yr Once again you refuse to answer the question which means you have no idea and were just spouting talking points. :walk:
September 3, 201214 yr So are we calling a "no take" from 1/20/09 to 3/9/09? Did that period not happen? I guess you are saying he had something to do with the tail spin that occurred the first couple months after he took office. If so any further debate is useless as I can't intelligently debate something so silly.

Then he was part of the problem.
September 3, 201214 yr Author Once again you refuse to answer the question which means you have no idea and were just spouting talking points. :walk: Once again, what question? I have found may questions in this thread that I asked that have not been answered. I guess you are saying he had something to do with the tail spin that occurred the first couple months after he took office. You do realize you linked a chart that shows gas prices below $2 when Obama took office don't you? As for the Dow, it simply has not double from the day Obama took office. I know, he inherited a mess, believe me we've heard all about it. Of course an intelligent person would realize that the Dow was greatly oversold in March 09 and as it always does it bounced back. The market is very efficient and over time will reflect it's true value. So Obama had about as much to do with it rebounding as he did with it declining. But the facts are the Dow was at 8000 when he took office and it's at 13,000 today and if you want silly keep telling yourself that is doubling.
September 3, 201214 yr Author Was he not part of the US Senate when prior to the tail spin? No chart needed, the answer is yes. Then he was part of the problem. Now, now woodsrider we can't blame Obama for anything during his time as a Senator. The record shows that he rarely showed up for work. It's funny how when he as in the Senate it was the President's fault and now that he is the President it's the Senate's fault.

I'm not wrong and I'm done debating someone who is just going to blindly ignore the facts that gas was over $4 a gallon for at least 6 months prior to Obama being sworn in. The question that I've asked 4 times now is what economic indicators are you using to suggest that Obama is tanking or doesn't care about the economy. There has been a lot of debate about the price of gas in this thread which you didn't even bring up. So what indicators are you using, private sector jobs created, DOW, GDP? I'll not hold my breath.

September 3, 201214 yr Author It does? Clyde, I honestly don't know. In this case I'm guilty of repeating something I heard on the Hannity Show. I didn't realized he was biased but after further review he may have an agenda. But could you help a brother out and tell 2 Hump that 2 x 2=4 and half of 13,000 is not 8,000. No wonder both parties want to fix education.
September 3, 201214 yr 2 Hump you should start and investment firm and advertise that you can double peoples money. Just give you $1 and you will double it to $1.60. Another post without answering my question. I'll take that as an admission that you were wrong or at least can't post any facts to back up your claim. I'm Done with the thread since you can't defend your incorrect assertions. Maybe Rush will be back on the air tomorrow so you can't get another talking point to post.
September 3, 201214 yr It is unchanged because gas was around $4 a gallon for a large portion of President Bush's 2nd term. In July of 2008 it was over $4 a gallon. They dipped due to demand dropping. Sure the Dow dropped with the economic crisis and with steps started by President Bush (bailout) and furthered by Obama (stimulus) it along with jobs have improved. So the price of gas has stayed the same aside from a very brief few month dip. I focus on one because one hasn't changed and the other has due to policies of our previous and current presidents. BTW I didn't mentioned the price of gas, you did. Better check those historical prices again. Gas was not at $4 for a large portion of Bush's second term. It peaked their briefly and then immediately started falling late in his second term. It was under $3 for most of his second term. http://gasbuddy.com/gb_retail_price_chart.aspx
September 3, 201214 yr RealClearMarkets - Are Ron Paul's Competing Currencies the Monetary Answer? Gas is rising because our dollar is falling. Both administrations and The Federal Reserve are to blame.

September 4, 201214 yr So has the economy actually improved or has it been a failure? Last 3 months of 2008 job losses were about 2M total. In the last 29 months private sector jobs have increased by about 4M. Is that an improvement?
September 4, 201214 yr It has been a failure. Absolutely no other way to view it. Is it better? That is up for debate as some indicators and segments are better, others are worse. The questions for voters are could it be better and should it be better.
