He will be able to do that. I believe that he will be able to start hitting in February.

Jordan Pike of Scott will probably not be pitching this year. Had elbow surgery a month ago.

That reminds me of another fine pitcher in the area. Scott's Ray Everett (*sp*)

He's a very good pitcher and should have a nice year.

Good call with the Everett kid. They have another kid that doesn't seem to get the props he should and that is the Wells kid. Very solid pitcher and I would say he's actually better than Everett, and that's saying a lot considering how well Everett pitched last year.

I didn't get a chacne to see Wells pitch last year. I knew Everett for many years and I remember when we faced him last year I think we gave him his first loss but he pitched great. He had only given up a few hits in his last 3 games or something like that when we faced him and he was very tough. Great fielder also, I think he plays center when not pitching. He and my boy used to play on Ray Brake's Dragon team growing up. I know last year he was coming off a football injury (broken back I believe) yet still pitched very good. I wish him all the best this year.....except when facing Cooper lol.

Tyler Schultz from Boone. Had a good season last year. Boone needs him to step up this year.

Don't forget about Pete Ohmer, he is a crafty lefty who throws with a lot of movement, he will have a good year and will help in reaching the goal of a region championship.

I really like Ganns, Dunn, Maines, Cain, and Brown this year. These five are solid pitchers that have all thrown good over the past years. But I always like to think forward to any new names coming about.

 

Collin Smith from Cooper should get some quality innings and be a solid 3rd man for the Jags. He's a big lefty that throws pretty good with good movement. Cameron Ross and Brady Smiley are a couple of kids from Conner that I really like. They are both long kids throwing in the low to mid 80s with nasty breaking stuff. I also Brandon Ward coming off of injury is going to make a huge difference for Cov Cath.

I agree, I had a chance to watch Ward this fall and he threw the ball really well. NKY area has really good pitchers this year.

Not the hardest throwing pitcher but when he is on his game he is tough to hit. Had a very solid season last year as a sophomore and has been pitching Varsity since his ffreshman year.

Another big blow to Scott as I just heard that Ray Everett won't be pitching this year. Has a stress fracture in his back.

Clinton Hollon will be the best in state by far, the kid is a absolute stud. Jordan Martin, Ray Everett and Jordan Pike will also be some of the top pitchers from the 10th.

Ray Everett and JP won't pitch this year for the Eagles. Everett has a stress fracture in his back. Doctors recommended Pike not to pitch until late spring into the summer. Huge let down for Eagles.

Stress fractures in the back are becoming more and more frequent. My Senior had it when he was in the 8th grade......

 

The well known Sports Med Dr claims it is because there isn't an off season for some of these sports. He was seeing them in the following sports more than others...

 

1. Gymnastics

2. Diving

3. Soccer

4. Wrestling

5. Basketball

6. Football

 

Sounds silly, but my son actually got "lucky" and had two stress fractures (one on each side of his spine).......If you have two, they put you in an elastic back brace and you have to shut it down for 5-6 weeks........If you have only one, then they usually put you in a harder brace that has to just protect one side and the down time is longer...

Big Loss In Everett and Pike. Also heard Seth Robinson may not be able to pitch. Pitching may hurt Scott this year. Good thing they have a solid offense.
