No one will ever admit that they have an issue with race. It's never "me."

 

Are you talking about yourself? I'm confused. If you are talking about me then believe whatever makes you feel better but I assure you I'm suprised that you or anyone else associate food stamps with black people. Allow me to clarify, I don't think that black folks coming to mind at the mention of food stamps makes you a racist. I just find it to be a head scratcher that that's the image that pops into you head and then you label the person who said it a racist.

 

Like I said I understand hip hop music, basketball, I'll even add in street gangs, but food stamps? I realize the stereotypes that come with different cultures but I have never heard that food stamps was a black thing.

I get the being offended by the buck comment, however, unless the word black is used along with it, I see it as looking to be offended. Unless, of course, one is commenting on a picture of someone or the actual person.

Oh come on. First of all, I wasn't offended by Biden's comments I just thought they were idiotic. What offends me is the White House acting like it wasn't directed toward the blacks in the audience. I mean really how often do you think Biden uses the phrase "y'all".

 

And I still don't understand why mentioning hand out programs is racial. So we are just to assume that all food stamp recipients are black?

 

Once again, if you think black people when you hear "food stamps" then why is that not considered racist thinking. In my entire life I never associated food stamps and minorities, never, ever. I associate black people with the NBA and hip hop music but not food stamps.

Again, it's naive to believe that your beliefs account for all of white people's beliefs. That's like saying just because you wouldn't vote for Obama for political reason that some white people won't vote for him because he's black. There are thousands who wouldn't and CNN found some here in Ky brave enough to say it on camera.

 

I wasn't offended by Biden's comments either. They were laugh out loud funny and idiotic. Nobody defended Biden. I'm not offended by Romney's ad but after the birther joke and now the welfare ad I can definitely see the racial undertones and the people he is pandering to.

I don't. But when I hear Rick Santorum address a crowd of white people and is saying welfare won't save black people under my watch and the crowd applauds you tell me what is going on. These same people are now listening to Romney and applauding. Call it what you want. You know I will.

Not all white people but a larger percentage of white people think that way than what people on BGP want to believe. I know and work with plenty that associate welfare, the projects, section 8 and food stamps with black people.
