Plus it is Trinity this year. I think after what they did to Highlands in that scrimmage that we'll all be in shock in the state finals this year. I think playing Highlands is a worthy substitute to playing a possible 6A finalist. It probably would be a good year to play St. X since we know they won't be in the 6A finals. Beating Highlands and St. X in the same year is the stuff of legends. That's where we are trying to be.

So even after a weak regular season schedule and advancing through the playoffs where the opponent gets harder every week to make the finals and then score more points on Trinity than any other team from Ky did SC still can't get any respect? Tough crowd. I'd have rather have played St. X than Trinity anyways. We'd have a ring then.:banana:

Would that be the same ring that you won when last you played X in the State Finals in 2004? All I remember is St. X. 49 - Scott County 9. I don't think you want any part of the Tigers either. :irked:

guru, I don't know how that kid got so good looking ;-) ... I'm not big on predictions, but I'll predict this, Creek cracks this top 10 list by week 5... Also, and this really gets my goat, I think everyone needs to remember that these athletes are kids. Teenage boys... and what those boys did last year for Scott County was amazing, an undefeated trip to the state finals. For anyone to try and under mind that accomplishment is rediculous... Good luck to SC this season... until week 5... :-)

The 2011 team beat a nationally ranked Cincinnati St. X. team right before the the playoffs, so based on this victory, I feel they could have handled Scott County. However, since we had to play Trinity in the third round, we'll never know.

Good luck to Tates Creek as well. It's been too long since the Lexington area has been respectful and competitive in high school football in this state. I hope it continues. We'll try to keep it up as well. If you guys shine then we all shine.

Possibly. Scott County is in the baby steps of becoming a program like Highlands/St. X/Trinity. I like the direction we are headed in.

They are headed in the right direction, but to take shots at X is uncalled for and definitely unwanted. X wasn't the beast that T was but X would've easily dismantled Scott Co. What credible victory did they have enroute to their unblemished regular season? And also Scott Co out up 21 points but also gave up 62 :confused:

I really think that 6A has gotten too vanilla.....forgive me for saying this, but I feel it's a two horse race. The winner of the second T/X game, seemingly, is in the driver's seat. The rest is fodder for conversation. I will concede once another team rises up, and takes over.

Absolutely not. Highlands is not better than St X.

 

Maybe not this early in the season, not so sure you can say that by seasons end.

There are coaches in the state who couldn't win if placed at T. Well let me elaborate, couldn't win 9/11 state titles. maybe not even 2
