Is there any Scott County fans that can tell us about their standouts this year with some stats?

I expect a good game with some sad faced Bluebird fans around 10:00pm EST on 8/24/12.

Highlands has lost something like 2 games in the last 5 years. They're 59-2 since 2008. Back to reality hugh? I've heard that one a few times over the last decade.

 

So. You'll keep hearing it too. I hear every year how great Highlands is and they always are. If you expect me to bow down and kiss the ring just because then you are sadly mistaken.

You don't execute because you're gassed! You don't hit holes as hard when you're gassed. You don't block as well when you're gassed. You don't tackle as well when you're gassed. You don't chase receivers as well when you're gassed.

 

So did the Boyle players get really stupid the second half? I don't think so.

Back to the thread.. IMO I look for a fairly high scoring game

 

Highlands defense will need to play better than they did early in the Boyle game. Highlands scores late and holds off Scott County to win 35-22.

Ever been to Highlands on a Friday night? I hope you can attend the game and see for yourself.

That is a good point. I am very intrigued to see what kind of success Scott County has against the Highlands defense running the ball. Even though there are differing opinions of Boyle's overall success running the ball last Friday I was still surprised and how efficient we ran it overall. 1 yard away from having 2-100 yard rushers. I don't want to downplay our running backs or offensive line in any way but I have to believe Scott County's running backs and offensive line is as good as ours at the very least.

 

You know deep down I have love for the Bluebirds.

Heck, I'm real interested in that issue myself and I'm sure a lot of other Birds fan are too.

 

However, based on what I know and have seen on SC, they do run a different type of O than Boyle (and I'd be surprised if McKee installs a new offense just for us little old Blue Birds), so I'm not sure we will be comparing apples to apples. With a new QB at the helm for SC (McKee's son, whom is a sophomore), I'm not sure how much passing SC will do. That's putting a lot of pressure on a new QB that will probably be nervous enough as it is. Boyle passing game was a legit threat and had to be taken very seriously by the Birds, which of course help Boyle's running game be more successful. If Jim decides not to put too much pressure on his young QB this early in the year and he decides to live and die strictly with the run, it should be easier to stop the run. Although I've noted that they do have a stud RB returning as well as a couple of their O linemen. So their run game should be potent and a real test for Highlands. I'll be interested in seeing what defensive alignment the Birds come out in.

 

Should be one heck of a game and I'm really looking forward to it.

I'm hoping iHigh has this game on Friday night. I wish this game was in Georgetown so I could make it. Boyle doesn't play until Saturday night. It'd be nice to be able to watch it. Either through iHigh or BGP updates.
