So is that same logic why you havent had much to say in the SK/St. X thread?

The last drive Beechwood had their entire starting defense in minus #57, #50, # 52. The players in their place were #74, #81, #55 and they were part of the rotation thru out the game.

 

Absolutely wrong. Nussbaum and Erdman were on the field with a JV defensive line and a JV defensive backfield, and I believe Nussbaum was not in on the entire drive. Eyeof theTiger said Lightner was out there too.

 

As to the players you mention being part of the rotation the entire game, you are proving my point about how much Beechwood substituted. For example, nothing against 81 and 55, but they will play very little in a real season varsity game.

Didn't watch the game I will be at SK/Beechwood game.

So Everett, Kinman and McKenzie are JV players?

 

Sorry if I made a mistake in the report. I do not remember those guys being out there on that last drive. And also, McKenzie was not a starter in that scrimmage. Other Beechwood fans were saying that it was the JV defense on that last drive too so that is why I wrote that. I don't see game film so no way for me to check it out. I will do a better job taking notes going forward to make sure I don't make any mistakes.

 

Thank you to all those who liked the report. I would like Beechwood fans to send me PM's on game info and ideas for good stories about Beechwood. I probably won't make it to all the football games on the JV and freshman level so any help is appreciated. I will try to write a good report on all the games.

Is McKenzie #77? If so, he most certainly did start the scrimmage and was also on the field when Conner scored their last TD. I was going off of the posted roster in this thread.

Your posts in this thread are comical. If you watched the game closely, you would see that Beechwood played a boatload of players, subbed liberally and was much more interested in learning about their team than winning this game. Believe me, Beechwood's player rotation would be much different if they felt this was a scrimmage they had to win. If they wanted to win so bad, why did they play their JV defense on Conner's last TD drive while Conner still had their starters in on offense?

I have only heard about it on here and the accuracy of posts in this thread leaves a lot to be desired. I really don't know why Beechwood would want scout. It is a scrimmage. And the way both teams played the scrimmage with all the subs, they were trying to see as many players as possible. Either way, what's the big deal if they did? The biggest problem I would have would be if there was a gentleman's agreement that was broken. It isn't going to have impact on a scrimmage.

 

Maybe one of the coaches stopped by on his own and looked in at practice? Just like the fake punt Beechwood ran. Nussbaum didn't know they weren't allowed to run a fake punt so he ran it. No big deal. Give Conner the ball and move on. If a coach stopped by on his own, no big deal and move on.

McKenzie plays left tackle and defensive end. Maricle starts at left tackle. Hicks and Overstreet start at DE. McKenzie got a lot of playing time early because Hicks got hurt. Hicks tore an ACL and is out for the year so McKenzie might be the starter at DE now.

Yes McKenzie is 77. If you are looking at game film I have to believe you. He hadn't been starting that I know of. Where did he start? If it was defense, what number was the other end? Sorry for the mistake but I didn't notice him starting and he hadn't been first team before that game.

He started on the D-Line at the left end on Conner's first series. #50 was the on the right side. Just tryin to keep things factual.
