I agree RP. That tells the story tonight very well. It was a scrimmage. There were a lot of substitutions made by both team, especially Beechwood. With so many new players, the coaches played a lot of different players in different combinations checking to see who can do what. As EyeoftheTiger said above, the last Conner varsity TD drive was against the Beechwood JV with just a couple of starters on the field with them. I think both teams are happy with what they saw tonight.

Could not agree more. The coaches and players are trying to work on certain aspects of their game against faces other than the ones they have been staring across the line at for the last few weeks. Boasting or bemoaning a final score from these scrimmages is comical. It does show though that there has been a long break and the folks are ready for some high school football.

And in case you didn't notice this is a thread regarding the scrimmage game between Conner and Beechwood, nowhere in the title of the thread does it say anything about Simon Kenton, how "good" their defense is, or the 1981 men's basketball team..

Do you have an agenda? Seems like you are offering nothing but excuses, rather than admit that your team lost a scrimmage game to a class 5A team? How many guys play both ways at how many schools across the country? Is that why Beechwood lost to Mayfield three years in a row, because they play both ways? Get real.

You might want to tell that to RomanEmpire he is the one that keeps taking jabs at SK. I been trying to talk about this scrimmage. He is just mad cause the star QB didn't play.

Beechwood is not my team. I just think it was funny how a 5A team that people say are going to win state struggled with a 1A program that had to replace 20 Seniors.

The comments you make about the players on Conner's team amazes me. And regarding your comment about a 5A school "struggling".. They did not struggle. They scored more TD's than the other team, playing with 6 starters on the sidelines, and a WR/DB playing quarterback.. Get a grip dude..

When a teams fans say they will win 5A before the season even starts yea I will take jabs at them. Beechwood's defense was in the backfield most the night. Conner was suppose to have an awesome line. Just wait till Conner plays some bigger teams. Conner will be lucky to go 5-5.
