In this case there can't be more than a few teams interested YET I will assume none want to take the chance of picking up his contract. So they take the chance that the other teams will pass as well.

 

At that point they can then start negotiating with the Phils with no risk.

I agree, but it will be interesting to see if one of the bigger market teams might take that chance.

Lee needs a kick in the butt sometime to start throwing the way he can.

Haha. You couldn't be more wrong. Almost every team puts a lot of their players on the waiver wire. It does not mean they cut him. If you would have read the article that you posted you would have seen that.

 

Exactly why you have new members on this site that are afraid to post/and or reply to posts. This guy does and you rip him for his lack of the waiver process. If some of you guys on here that are more knowledgeable of these types of things would just take the time to explain things and be less inclined to take advantage of the guys lack of knowledge on the subject you might get more posters and less people's who just read posts.

I heard today that he's set to earn $29M next year. I can't imagine a team taking that on. Even the Yanks are cutting back.

Sorry to disappoint you but I do know enough about how the waiver process works to not make that statement. This kind of comment just confirms my thoughts.
