August 2, 201214 yr Author Yes. Guy asked about leaving the box early. If he was in the box at the Time of Pitch (ie when the pitchers commits to coming home) he can move at any time. But you said there was no such thing as a catchers balk. Mcclelland says there is.
August 2, 201214 yr Not to get off the subject but what's up with the womens beach volleyball players wearing pants?
August 2, 201214 yr Author Not to get off the subject but what's up with the womens beach volleyball players wearing pants? Apparently they were creeped out by the 44 year old men lusting after them.
August 2, 201214 yr Apparently they were creeped out by the 44 year old men lusting after them. I will say that if any of them are gonna wear pants these are the two I would choose. If only they had matching goalie masks.
August 2, 201214 yr But you said there was no such thing as a catchers balk. Mcclelland says there is. He's wrong. The balk is ALWAYS on the pitcher. The pitcher pitched on an IBB when his catcher was NOT in the box at Time of Pitch. Welsh's scenario did not involve an IBB so no chance a balk of any sort , real or mythical, could be called.
August 2, 201214 yr Gritty 6 innings for Arroyo. Didn't have good stuff, but had to go at least 6 after the last two nights...
August 2, 201214 yr Author He's wrong. The balk is ALWAYS on the pitcher. The pitcher pitched on an IBB when his catcher was NOT in the box at Time of Pitch. Ok. I take your word over a 25 year MLB veteran.
August 2, 201214 yr Ok. I take your word over a 25 year MLB veteran. You've NEVER seen an umpire in MLB misinterpret a rule? Come on. I 've already told you where to go look the rules of for yourself. Even gave you the sections to look at. He's wrong on this one.
August 2, 201214 yr Author You've NEVER seen an umpire in MLB misinterpret a rule? Come on. I 've already told you where to go look the rules of for yourself. Even gave you the sections to look at. He's wrong on this one. Like I said. He's obviously wrong, and you're right.
August 2, 201214 yr I've never heard of a "Catcher's balk". What the frig is that? Maybe Mesoraco balked and concussed himself.
August 2, 201214 yr Author Ok. Thoughts on how Broxton will do in his 1st appearance as a Red. Let's hear it.
August 2, 201214 yr Dude's wrong. No such thing as a balk on the catcher. It's referred to as a catcher's balk but it is actually a balk on the pitcher due to where the catcher is set up at the time of pitch. Common mistake and one I'm not surprised McLelland made.
August 2, 201214 yr Broxton, IMO, will be lights out as a set up man. Less pressure than closer role.
