July 26, 201214 yr "A lot of gun owners would agree that AK-47s belong in the hands of soldiers, not in the hands of criminals -- that they belong on the battlefield of war, not on the streets of our cities," the president, who has called for reimposing the Assault Weapons Ban, said in a speech to the National Urban League. Obama urges tighter background checks on gun buyers after Aurora massacre | The Ticket - Yahoo! And we recognize the traditions of gun ownership that passed on from generation to generation -— that hunting and shooting are part of a cherished national heritage," he said. h It is not a tradition, it is a RIGHT GUARANTEED TO ME AND YOU A AMERICAN CITIZENS!
July 26, 201214 yr As I asked in another thread why should it be legal to have a high-capacity weapon? What is the value of them? Secondly, does the Constitution make all weapons legal?

There is no way those who framed our Constitution could have dreamed of the type of weaponry available to the masses today.
July 26, 201214 yr Author There is no way those who framed our Constitution could have dreamed of the type of weaponry available to the masses today. Doesn't matter. Free Speech over the internet could not have been seen either. The 2nd Amendment is the 1 and only Amendment that keeps anyone coming from us.
July 26, 201214 yr Doesn't matter. Free Speech over the internet could not have been seen either. The 2nd Amendment is the 1 and only Amendment that keeps anyone coming from us. Are there illegal weapons today?
July 26, 201214 yr Are there illegal weapons today? That's a good question. I used to work with a guy that had a 50 cal. machine gun. It must be legal, because I can remember him waiting for his permit to come in the mail. So what's next, LAW rockets (Light Anti Tank Weapon) ) are they legal? :idunno:
July 26, 201214 yr As I asked in another thread why should it be legal to have a high-capacity weapon? What is the value of them? Secondly, does the Constitution make all weapons legal? What's the value of having bigger, faster cars? Why should it be legal? What's the value of having the ability to go to a casino? What's the value of being able to buy and consume alcohol? Why should these things be legal?
July 26, 201214 yr Are there illegal weapons today? But still some fun legal ones... Warning - Some 'R' rated language...but an interesting list... 7 Items You Won't Believe Are Actually Legal | Cracked.com There are currently no federal laws governing or restricting the ownership of flame-throwing devices. Some states have laws restricting possession of flamethrowers, with violations only considered to be misdemeanors, but 40 states have absolutely no laws whatsoever concerning flamethrowers. Only in America would a device capable of launching rivers of fire at people be less regulated than marijuana. ... Tannerite is sold legally as a binary compound, meaning you mix two harmless powders and get something that goes boom. Just apply the mixture to the object you wish to blow up and then hit it with extreme force or heat. Thermite is a composite, aluminum and metal oxide based powder. When ignited, it can reach temperatures of up to 2500 degrees Fahrenheit. For reference, that's close to half the temperature of the chuckle****ing Sun. Thermite is most commonly used to cut through very strong metal, like the kind you find in the frame of a skyscraper or the body of a T-800.

Actually I heard second hand of some mortars being fired (for fun) up towards NKY.

July 26, 201214 yr Author Once again, it isn't a dodge. My thoughts on it is our founding fathers thought the people should have access to almost all weapons the government has/had. Why? So we can defend ourselves against crooks and tyrants that would use those same weapons to put us down should we go against them. Some people would feel better without guns in this world, great for them. That does not stop the mentality of someone who wants you dead or to inflict harm on you. Criminals will always exist and can/will kill you. Ban guns they will use knives, ban knives they will use fire, ban fire they will use water.....most of those who want guns banned are sheep, listening to frighting reports the media puts out for their own liberal agenda. Hoe much news does a CCW guy get when he stops a robbery or a rape or another type of harm? Very little because it paints guns in a good light.
July 26, 201214 yr With a permit full autos are legal. They just need a permit - always. Actually I heard second hand of some mortars being fired (for fun) up towards NKY. Just for clarification's sake it is more than "just a permit" since you also waive your right to privacy when you get a Class 3 license. The ATF requires you to get a license for the sale and acquisition of said weapon and a license for the ammunition. Additionally you have to keep accurate ammunition counts at all times in the event that the ATF wants to come in and audit you. With the proper licensing most items are legal from what I read on the ATF's website and through their handbook.
July 26, 201214 yr Seems like a dodge. That's your argument? Dodge? You use semantic deception applying "needs" to situations that more accurately require "wants". But you're not alone, this is the newest battle cry of the anti-gun crowd since they love to blame everything when something like the shootings in Aurora happen except what needs to be blamed. The difference between the things you asked about and the things I asked about it the 2nd Amendment.
