July 6, 201214 yr So do you agree with blaming the base running on Dumsty or Dumsty bringing in LeCure with the bases loaded, and nobody out? The double steal? 100% on the baserunners. That's the only defending I'll do. I meant "carry on" because I can't defend him.
July 6, 201214 yr Author I hate the term "Players Manager" That means in Dumsty Speak "I gotta get all the ole vets who are over the hill and batting .135 to .214 some playing time instead of playing my best 9 every day" They don't need a buddy as Manager they need someone to kick butt. Sparky has rolled over in his grave 40 times this year at the lizard (hes always has that toothpick and rubbing his hands together) for his mismanagement of the pitching staff and his use of players. What is Frank Robinson doing? What about Tommy LaSorda lol. Anyone living or dead might be better seriously. Wonder who gets a spot start tonight. Maybe Cairo will give Bruce a night off ya know. LeCure should be rested maybe he can start tonight he only threw one pitch.
July 7, 201214 yr Dusty admits that the offense is struggling. He also says that he has thought about moving Phillips to leadoff but he doesn't have a good option for cleanup. Imo he dislikes Frazier so much that he is totally overlooking his numbers with RISP. Ludwicks line with RISP is .207/.319/.397 Todd Frazier's line with RISP .317/.431/.683 !!! Reds offense in an all-around slump | reds.com: News
July 7, 201214 yr There is no reason whatsoever for Frazier not to be the every day third baseman and to hit 4th right now. If be hits .200 for a month with no power then figure out what to do next. Hell I'd be fine with him hitting 2nd and leaving BP 4th. Something has to be tried in the 1 and 2 spot other than Cozart and Stubbs.
July 7, 201214 yr Pulling Latos after 109 pitchers is a perfectly defensible position. Latos isn't the most effficient pitcher, in terms of pitch counts, and would have likely gone well over 120 if he completed the eighth inning. He is a valuable commodity and there is no reason to extend him that far. Besides, Latos did his job, the offense didn't.
July 8, 201214 yr Author Latos could have gone one more. And with the All Star break he had about 7 days off
July 8, 201214 yr Latos could have gone one more. And with the All Star break he had about 7 days off It's just not worth it. He has many good years in a Reds uni ahead of him.
July 8, 201214 yr Author Hes about to lose another one he lets lefty Marshall face the guy who hit the homerun off him then walks the next batter who is righthanded instead of bringing in Ondrusek. Hey here is a novel idea why not with bases loaded bring in Chapman for a four out night and maybe strikje out the batter. I can't take it anymore I'm like the guy in the movie Network.
July 8, 201214 yr Author I told you hed mess up the lineup today now he's screwed up the rotation after the break. He has Cueto ptching third at night when if he wins today will be 7-0 with a 1.00 ERA in day games
July 8, 201214 yr I told you hed mess up the lineup today now he's screwed up the rotation after the break. He has Cueto ptching third at night when if he wins today will be 7-0 with a 1.00 ERA in day games Cueto will be pitching first game out of the break.
July 8, 201214 yr Nope. Latos, Leake, Cueto. Thats what it says online but I don't believe that will be the case? Did Dusty say other wise?
July 8, 201214 yr “We debated Cueto starting the first game,” Reds manager Dusty Baker said. “But that would have given everybody else a couple of extra days off. Now we’re on our regular rotation.” Fay's Blog
