June 27, 201214 yr I can't imagine UL stays in the Big East IF we assume that football is the driving force.
June 27, 201214 yr I'm actually a fan of 4 playoff teams and 4 teams only. IMO in football the best team usually wins. The #7 and #8 team will very rarely defeat the #1 and #2 teams so for me anything other than a 4 team playoff is a waste of time. Let's just get down to the nitty gritty. Last year's New York Giants might beg to differ! But I do agree with your point, especially on the college level. There is such a small different in best and worst in the NFL, but there is usually a noticeable difference between 1 and even 8 in the NCAA.

Yes, there has always seemed to be a noticeable difference between #1 and #8 and #2 and #7 as well. June 27, 201214 yr In the interests of what we might call fairness, here's Eric Crawford taking it down a notch from my own doom and gloom scenario. He seems to think that the new system carries certain advantages for Louisville. To a certain extent I'll agree with his ideas, but I still think this move really helped a few leagues and is going to really put a hurt on the rest. June 27, 201214 yr I wonder how often we will see 2 SEC teams in the 4 team system and I also wonder how often they will try to make them face each other in the first game. In terms of money from ratings I'm thinking they would want to knock out one of the two teams early.
July 2, 201214 yr I just hope they don't try to be PC and "Spread it around". Come up with the 4 best teams and have at it. If it's Texas, Oklahoma, USC and Oregon so be it, I'm ok with only two conferencs be represented if they have the 4 best teams. Last year IMO was an annomoly where the top 2 teams were clear and happened to be from the same conference. I think 4 teams is perfect as long as there are no auto bids tied to conf champs.
