There are lots of grumblings about the fact that Mrs Clarence Thomas being employed by various organizations who are adamantly opposed to healthcare reform. She has been paid handsomely by these organizations.

 

I have no reason to suspect anything but the highest level of integrity from Justice Thomas.

 

However, it's hard to deny that the perception of a conflict of interest has some legs.

 

So, should Justice Thomas recuse himself from ruling on the case?

Wow. That's an amazing conflict of interest.

 

My wife works here at the plant and if an issue came up where I had to be involved in a decision that affects my wife then I would recuse myself. I know that I would act with integrity but it would be better for the Union, Company and personal life if I wasn't involved in the decision making process.

Yes he should, money buys influence, if it didn't she wouldn't be paid.

I'm sketchy on the details. Fill me in. Seems like she wrote a paper about it before she was a Justice but I'm iffy on the rest.
