Difference between a lower court judge and the Supreme Court IMO. Supreme Court is the final say on judicial matters.
June 23, 201214 yr I don't think he should. I don't believe that all husbands and wives share all the same beliefs. And he, like everyone, has beliefs. Justice Thomas must use his legal skills everyday. I feel he can do so in this instance as well, without letting either his wife's beliefs or his own personal beliefs influence his performance.
June 23, 201214 yr I'm sketchy on the details. Fill me in. Seems like she wrote a paper about it before she was a Justice but I'm iffy on the rest. Edit: Never mind. Saw the previous post. It certainly sounds like it should at least be considered. Only thing I remember reading was about her following the vote very closely and putting out some emails that showed support or excitement or something like that when it passed. Came up during her nomination process.

June 24, 201214 yr Who made personal attacks? At demand to recuse is such an attack. Why is this levied only at Thomas. Every justice 'has connections'. The liberal angst with Thomas comes out at various times. Here it is a sad attempt to adjust the numbers of what is likely a losing battle...only a week or less from the ruling. Timing is interesting.

OK, I thought there was an article in the original post with new calls for recusal from the MSM. I should not post on the road...late and night... I think the roster is set. I will say this, the Thomas's connections pale to some of the others that exist in the administration or some in Congress. If spouses 'with connections' disqualify you then then a lot of people should be out of jobs in Washington. As for being compared to MR. I will say this, rarely is he factually wrong. Maybe not PC by rarely 'wrong'. We better not fear the truth, even when it is offensive.

June 25, 201214 yr Are you saying liberals feel entitled also? Yes liberals feel entitled on issues, but so do conservatives at times too. More for libels though.
