It was renamed when Anheuser-Busch bought the team (and ballpark) in the 50's. It's essentially like calling Riverfront "Cinergy Field". Busch Stadium II was the replacement to Sportsman's/Busch I, and was the one they razed a few years back and was replaced by the current Busch Stadium III.

June 19, 201214 yr Author Actually...TECHNICALLY...Busch Stadium I was razed in the 60's...it was their original field, and originally named Sportsman's Park. It was renamed when Anheuser-Busch bought the team (and ballpark) in the 50's. It's essentially like calling Riverfront "Cinergy Field". Busch Stadium II was the replacement to Sportsman's/Busch I, and was the one they razed a few years back and was replaced by the current Busch Stadium III. Correction...just looked it up, and Busch Stadium I was actually Sportsman's Park III, haha. Sportsman's Park I was home to the St. Louis Brown Stockings.
June 19, 201214 yr Riverfront Stadium (also Cinergy Field), Great American Ball Park, Wrigley Field, Comiskey Park, New Comiskey Park (currently US Cellular Field), Milwaukee County Stadium (to see Robin Yount's 2,999th hit, couldn't go the next night because I was on duty), Turner Field, Jacobs Field (also Progressive Field), and Seattle Kingdome (to watch the 1995 Final Four).
June 19, 201214 yr Riverfront/Cinergy GABP Wrigley..have been probably 20 times White Sox..old and new parks...scary part of town. We rode the subway down but was told by a cop not to take the subway back at night. Great advice as we took a cab back to downtown San Diego - old stadium went to 92 All Star game as part of contest a buddy of mine won. We stayed at the player's hotel and went to a couple of neat events. In the airport on the way home we got Ted Williams autograph and spoke to him for a few minutes. My fondest baseball memory. He was with his crazy son and Joe Torre. We were so mesmerized to be able to talk to Ted Williams we didn't think to get Torre's autograph. He only had 250 HR's, multiyear All-Star and an MVP award. This was pre Yankee's Torre. Williams is from San Diego and they honored him at the game and he threw out the first pitch. He signed my all-star program which is in mint condition. It was very cool to talk to him with no one around for a few minutes. He was still walking and moving around at this time. San Fran - both parks..new park is my favorite. I went there often when I had a client in SF. Atlanta - both parks Marlins - went but don't remember a thing about it Cleveland -both Detroit - both Yankees - new park only. I regret never going to the original big time. We had a group of 4 guys 2 years ago spent 5 days in NYC. Great trip. Played Bethpage Black and 2 other courses at the state park. Yankees were playing the Mets and our plan was to scalp tickets and spend 100 bucks each. We couldn't find anyone selling anything. We had given up and game was in the 2nd inning we were walking across the street to a sports bar. A guy comes up and says I'm going to make your day and sells us 4 seats 15 rows up from 3rd base for 90.00 each which I think may have been face value. That was a great trip. I have many to still see which I look forward to. My boys and I have been to several minor league facilities and always have a great time.

June 20, 201214 yr I have been to some classics. Candlestick, Jack Murphy, Riverfont, real architectural achievements. I have also been to Tropicana, Wrigley, and GABP.
