Various experts disagree as how to assign spending to a President when said President takes office four months into a budget year. This graph assigned spending from the remaining 8 months of the first term to the previous President.

Inflation was not accounted for.

GWB was a spend happy President who ballooned the deficit & ravaged the economy. Obama has continued & even escalated that spending.

Clyde, it doesn't matter what the chart says. People are gonna believe what they believe.

You know what they say, "There are lies, dang lies and statistics."

DId anyone read the 2nd link where people discussed the way the numbers came about ?

All I've seen so far are generalizations.

Unfortunately neither side wants to give hard numbers and let the people decide for themselves. They think they have to simplify it, water it down so that we the people in fly over country can understand it.

Soooooo ... nothing you've seen matters, unless it comes from an acceptable source? One that confirms what you've already been told?

I have about as much love for Obama as I do Don Henley.

I got more from the second link than I did from the chart.

No, not at all. What I am saying is that both sides want to talk in generalities, neither seems to give hard irrefutable numbers. Everything that is reported seems open for interpretation.

My biggest complaint with all politicians is they always say, "I have a plan to fix ______." However they never give the nuts and bolts of their plan so that the American people can decide for themselves if what they are saying makes sense or feasible. "I have a plan to balance the budget, I have a plan to grow jobs, I have a plan to grow better daisy's"...but they never elaborate on the plan.

I didn't know it was that bad!!!!

I thought the Part II link was very good. It answers a lot of questions about the various ways to look at spending and showing all measurements in a seemingly balanced approach.
