I went to Miyako recently and the sushi was awesome!

 

I didn't care for the service but the food made it worth the trip.

 

Clyde, some of the Buffets have pretty decent all you can eat sushi. Asian Buffet on Mall Road and China City on Turfway.

 

I've never been to an "exclusively sushi" place. And the sushi at some buffets borders on atrocious.

 

But the sushi at the Asian Buffet in Georgetown is several cuts above the standard fare at most buffets; and there are generally 10-15 different varieties.

Myth. You are thinking of sashimi.

Sushi- is a Japanese food consisting of cooked vinegared rice (shari) combined with other ingredients (neta). Neta and forms of sushi presentation vary, but the ingredient which all sushi have in common is shari. The most common neta is seafood.

You're correct - it was opened by Japanese immigrants specifically to cater to the Toyota folks in the Erlanger offices. It's FANTASTIC.

There's another place up in Mason right off Fields Ertel road called Kyojin. They've won some awards at Taste Of Cincinnati. It's actually an all-you-can eat buffet, which I'm aware sounds pretty undesirable as far as sushi goes. Trust me, though, it's well worth it. Dancing Wasabi is also another solid greater Cincinnati sushi joint.

Yep, they've got variety. I've taken several "sushi people" there as well...all of them liked it.

I can't believe I've read through every post in this thread and didnt' see anyone mention Dancing Wasabi up in Hyde Park. That place has amazing sushi and its always half-off (I think they just didn't want to change the menu. The sushi is fantastic and its cheaper than anywhere I've been. Only downfall is that it is not open for lunch, which is was because I work near there.

 

Been to Miyako off of Buttermilk Pike and agree with other posters in regards to the quality.

 

Also been to a newer one, Naked Chopstix, down on the levee. The sushi was extremely good, but the price, not so much.

As for sushi at a buffet, I think that the Tokoyo Dragon, down in Alexandria is the best in NKY.
