Joey Votto hits .384 with runners on and .368 with RISP.

 

The Reds leadoff position is getting on base at a .197 clip.

Pierre is getting on base at a .359 clip. That's 16.2% more at-bats for Votto with a runner on...

 

Even if you use his OBP of .329 of last year (which was his lowest by far since 2008) then that's still 13.2% more at-bats for Votto with a runner on. That's going to equal a lot more runs.

The Phillies got a steal, the same price as Willie Harris kind of steal...You keep bringing up his weaknesses but other than a weak arm and no power what are they? Lots of LFers have weak arms and he gets hits regardless of his power thats why he doesnt hit cleanup...

 

He isnt a superstar but you can do a lot worse than Juan Pierre and the Reds have been a perfect example of that...Fred Lewis, Willie Harris, Joey Gathright come on....Pierre has had more good years than bad, I actually dont know that you can really say he has ever had a BAD year...
