An attempt to evaluate the possible trade market for the Reds...

Featured Replies

Apparently a couple players in Pensacola were seen saying goodbyes and hugging in the dugout lastnight...Maybe a rumor, maybe not we will see...The person in particular that was mentioned was Corcino but I have also heard that Lotzkar and Joseph may have been sent packing in a deal...

I thought Corcino was almost untouchable?

Ken Rosenthal ‏@Ken_Rosenthal Add #Reds to list of teams after Choo. Would be ideal as leadoff man, needed LH bat. Again, #Indians reluctant. Choo very tough to replace.

I would be very happy with that. They would control him for 1 more year He's making just under $5M this year.

Bronson would be happy, too.

Why isn't David DeJesus being looked at as a viable leadoff possibility for the Reds, especially because he's capable of playing all three outfield spots. He would seem to be a better option than Victorino or Pierre.

How do we know he's not? Walt usually does a great job of not tipping his hand.

Can't say for sure, but we never hear much about DeJesus in any of these trade rumors. He's not so young that the Cubs should be asking a really high price for him.

Rosenthal also said the asking price is a "good major league player with less than 3 years experience..." Not sure who the Reds have that would fit that bill other than Leake, and possibly Heisey (although I doubt he'd intrigue Cleveland).

I've been clamoring about DeJesus for 2 months now!

Article on Choo-for-Stubbs deal.

Drew Stubbs for Shin-Soo Choo? | Redleg Nation

Bruce is CF, do you all think he can handle it?

ESPN (Insiders Only) is saying a Victorino trade is likely, but I'm not an insider, so I can't see what it says (as far as to what team).

Yes but he won't get to balls like Stubbs does.

I think it would really hurt the defense. I hope the Reds don't trade Stubbs for Choo.

The article just says that the Reds, Dodgers, Giants, and Pirates are interested.

Bob Nightengale and Buster Olney are saying Reds front office and staff really like Pierre and think he could be key to a postseason run. Say he'd be cheap and is a great clubhouse presence.
