Reds player's girlfriend tied up, robbed at Pittsburgh hotel

Pittsburgh Police are investigating a report that the girlfriend of a Cincinnati Reds player was tied up and robbed at a Pittsburgh hotel.

WPIX in Pittsburgh is reporting that the girlfriend of Aroldis Chapman was found half-naked in her hotel room and tied up with cloth napkins.

It happened Tuesday night around 10 p.m. at the Omni William Penn Hotel. Pittsburgh Police say two hotel guests found the woman screaming for help and called police.

Police say the 26-year-old woman from Silver Springs, Md. was taken to the hospital and interviewed by detectives. She told police that a man knocked on her door stating he was from the maintenance department and there to fix her toilet. When she opened the door, he entered the room and demanded various contents in the room. He tied her up and took jewelry, clothing, a computer, credit cards and ID cards.

A lot of wild stuff seems to surround Chapman.

This could be just a semi random attack. Could have happened to any of the players wives/girlfriends.

It's possibly but I doubt it.

A lot of wild stuff seems to surround Chapman.

Yea it seems like it's moving beyond coincidence. I wonder if it has something to do with his defection or if he got wrapped up into something with the wrong crowd. Or maybe he has terrible luck.

...or maybe the Cuban baseball machine is a little angry and trying to make life miserable for the defector.

First reference point to ID the perpetrators is the Steelers roster. Although they didn't beat or abuse the woman so maybe not.

A lot of stuff going on for Chapman over the last couple of week. The conspiracy theorist in me really wants to think there is a dark story here.

She wasn't raped, and she wasn't a Bengal cheerleader.

That's what caused me to second guess whether it was a Steeler. If both of those were true, a Steeler would surely be involved.:p

Maybe Aroldis needs a babysitter to go along with the translator that he already has. Things just aren't adding up for lately.

Something very strange is going on with him right now....I'm starting to get a little concerned.

Sounds like he needs a bodyguard not a babysitter.

Agreed. If anything beyond bad luck, I genuinely suspect Cuban retribution.

A lot of wild stuff seems to surround Chapman.

Everything is wild except his control.
