Several have lost siblings. I can't imagine how painful that was for you.

My wife has lost 2 brothers in the past 2 years. One was 49 and the other 53. It has been very hard on her.

Have two ollder brothers: 52 & 50. Wow, those numbers look so strange. Can't believe we're this old! :eyeonyou:

(Btw, I only counted biological siblings here. I didn't include RTS, whom we adopted a few years ago from a no-kill shelter. Just in time too -- they were getting ready to change their policy. No idea why.) :idunno:

 They may have realized it would be kill or be killed. :D

Heartbreaking for me. To this day, it's still very painful to think about, she was only 18 when she was killed.

I am the oldest and wisest. I have a brother who is a few years younger than me; he only works 1.5 days a week. My younger sister is lovely but spoiled rotten.

I am,perhaps, the "cream of the crop" :D

Seriously though, I do love my family!!!!

I take it your brother was an oops.

Oops are the best!

5 sibs.

I'm the middle kid but no one cares about me anyway.......:taz:

Unsung Hero. Your sister and brother would not be the same without you.

My wife actually has 5 younger brothers and 1 sister that passed away.

I cannot imagine the pain.

. I'm smack dab in the middle, making me the well adjusted one. :D

My middle is the family rock. Can't say enough about him.

One of the reasons that I'm fascinated by the "nature vs. nurture" discussion.

I was older than my sister by 27 months; raised in the same household by the same parents. She had a couple of severe childhood illnesses - viral meningitis and scarlet fever; we both had mumps, measles and chicken pox. She had very high fever with the serious ones - 105+; we often wondered if, in layman's terms, her brain got a bit fried and if that accounted for all of her later problems.

Long story short - polysubstance abuse, self-mutilation, two teen pregnancies and abortions, schizophrenia, borderline personality disorder, multiple hospitalizations in private and state mental hospitals (Shepherd-Pratt and Crownsville, in Maryland). And a whole raft of other stuff that I've forgotten. Lived in assisted housing, was never able to hold a job, and died at 45 of "natural causes" but I think she just wore out and gave up.

But for the grace of God...

One too many:isurrender:
