Trayvon Martin. Thread 2.

That is correct. And you just contradicted everything you said before.

Look I don't know if the guy is guilty or not. I don't have the real info inorder to make that decision. You are already convicting him on the half, media biased, supposed information that you have.

Justice is not emotional. Justice is blind. Inocence is presumed. Proof beyond reasonable doubt is required.

I side with prudence. Don't pass judgement with half facts. Let the system do it's job. Let's not call the lynch mob yet.

A judge can interpret based on spirit of the law, how would we know?

Haven't contradicted anything.

Hello?

Elder,

Yes, Zimerman had depraved mind in profiling this innocent boy.

Zimmerman started fight by stalking boy.

Most defense attorneys are former prosecutors, work 10 years for state get lifetime state insurance, take loan on reitrement start own practice. It is a mental adaptation to work the law in your favor. Being a source or legal analyst is simply an advertisement. Can't have any former prosecutor talk in statements. Must show is clearly removed from prosecutor life.

Once again, his actions were reckless - chasing an incorrectly profiled boy while having a weapon on his person.

Self defense as written does not apply because Zimmerman culd have avoided confrontation had he listened to the police and not continued to follow the child.

I do not pretend to know much about law or trial proceedings, but this statement I cannot see as being true - or at least holding as much water as you seem to believe it will. If the world has taught me anything, is that reckless, stupid behavior does not always preclude one from the laws which protect citizens. It is sort of the like the guy who touches a coffee pot and burns themselves then turns around sues the establishment because there was not a "this is hot" warning on the side of the pot. Crap like that happens all the time.

I'm still not sold that he incorrectly profiled either. Young black people were committing crimes in his neighborhood. He didn't call the cops and say this guy is carrying a gun I'm going to take care of it.

Elder,

Very nice. I've added another moniker.

85, with all due respect that's a little light on substance.

Let's break it down. How does a prosecutor show depravity in Zimmerman's case? Please don't tell me because he got out of his car and followed him.

What wording in the self-defense laws support your contention. The above seems like a "If 85 were King here's how it would be" vs what it actually says.

I believe it was the wrong thing to do (stupid even) but legally Zimmerman had every right to follow Martin. There are so many threads running thru this case that it will be interesting to follow. I'm not excited like PP92 :D but it will be an education.

Very nice. I've added another moniker.

Elder Clizzy...Crucible anyone? :D

A police officer said it. Do you read or skim and find what you are looking for? Has nothing to do with if 85 were king. "Teachers teach and do the world good. Kings just rule and most are never understood" KRS-ONE on his seminal, timeless classic "My Philosophy" - subliminal diss of Run-DMC for those who don't know.

As far as light on substance, first tell me what depraved mind state means. Then tell me that profiling a boy, calling him an a-hole and accosting him against police suggestions is not depraved. I'm not buying it. Zimmerman running through a neighborhood after a non-suspect, while having a firearm on him, but once again, chasing a non-suspect is depraved and morally corrupt. Had trayvon committed a crime, then yes Zimmerman might have something.

Yes, Zimmerman was within his rights to follow the boy, but much like driving a car with your feet, you can do it but doesn't make it a good idea.

Trayvon Martin shooting: Witnesses change stories ahead of Zimmerman trial | The Lookout - Yahoo! News

Four days after the shooting, one woman told police she "saw two guys running" and then "a fistfight—just fists, I don't know who was hitting who." But on March 20, she told investigators she saw just one person.

"I couldn't tell you if it was a man, a woman, a kid, black or white," the woman, "Witness 2," said. "I couldn't tell you because it was dark and because I didn't have my contacts on or glasses. I just know I saw a person out there."

But in another interview with investigators six days later, the paper reported, she was sure: It was Zimmerman on top.

"I know after seeing the TV of what's happening, comparing their sizes, I think Zimmerman was definitely on top because of his size," the woman, "Witness 12," said.

A third witness, "Witness 6," told police on the night of the shooting he saw a black man on top of a lighter-skinned man "just throwing down blows on the guy, MMA-style." He said the lighter-skinned man was calling for help. Interviewed later by investigators, he said he was not sure who was calling for help, and was not sure any punches were thrown.

A fourth witness also interviewed on the night of the shooting said he heard the shooting, ran outside, and saw Zimmerman standing with "blood on the back of his head." According to "Witness 13," Zimmerman told him that Martin "was beating up on me, so I had to shoot him."

Holds water only if Zimmerman didn't believe Martin to be a suspect.

The ACT punishes you for guessing wrong. Zimmerman took the ACT on Feb. 26.

This isn't the ACT. Zimmerman saw a person he didn't recognize that fit the description suspects committing break ins. Period. Aside from the girl friends statement there is nothing to suggest Zimmerman ever initiated the contact with Martin. There is nothing to suggest Zimmerman started the fight. Following Martin isn't starting a fight, I don't care how much you say it is or want it to be true. Because a prosecutor filed charges doesn't mean there is evidence to convict. Because a cop said he should be charged doesn't mean he is guilty. The FACTS as we know them do not support a murder 2 charge no matter how much you say it does. The prosecutor better have more evidence then what has been made public or she is an idiot and she will lose. It seems eye witnesses are changing their stories like the Raiders change head coaches. Most of what you have stated here as fact is nothing more then your opinion and proves absolutely nothing. Clyde has challenged you with evidence and instead of addressing it you state more opinion as fact.

1. Damn right it is not the ACT, it's the life of a boy. Zimmerman guessed wrong, now suffer the penalty.

2. Girlfriend's statement is very key to case, quite possible the straw that broke the camel's back in determining what charges to file.

The facts are Zimmerman profiled a boy and guessed wrong. He followed him after the police suggested he didn't. He ran through a neighborhood with a gun on him. He accosted the boy and the girlfriend backs that story up. He called the kid an a-hole. Are those not facts? The boy was unarmed. Police say the confrontation was avoidable. Zimmerman's head is bloodied and nose broken. Zimmerman got his arse whipped. The witnesses are changing their statements, yes. In my opinion they are changing them in Trayvon's favor.

When you mention Clyde, one you are wrong. But two, you sound like Frank Taafe and Joe Oliver. I don't have to answer to anyone. And as always, in the immortal words of John Henrick Clark, I only debate....you know know the rest.
