Don't believe he is going there. I heard grades, but don't know validity of that. I know when Johnson was a junior Happy Osborne (then the coach at Georgetown) offered him a scholarship.

Something happened. He told Bopper on twitter the other day that he was looking at 3 JuCos and Georgetown and then Bopper started his Georgetown recruitment of Jay on twitter. I was wondering if they have spoken about it in private.

 

I have no idea what happened to Jay going to Tennessee Tech I believe it was.

@Jay_Johnson_23 Reconsidering my college basketball choices from juco to Georgetown college i don't know what to do.

I talked with Vic Moses on Saturday. A lot can happen between now and basketball season, but he says the knee is fine and he plans to play for the Tigers and finish his collegiate career there.

 

With him in last year's lineup I think the Tigers had the makeup of a championship team.

Alan Ray Stenzel after his grandfather. When he was born, his grandfather said, "He looks like a "big Bopper". Bopper has Robbie and a sister that is a few years older than him. When they heard him called "Bopper" That is what his brother and sister called him...it has stuck all these years.

If it's grades, I don't see Johnson not qualifying for the NCAA clearinghouse, but getting into Georgetown.

Angelina College is in Texas and that is where Jaylan Daniels went this past year. He had a super great year on the court and in the classroom. May be a good fit for Jay too.

Georgetown just hired Johnson's AAU coach as assistant and JV coach. Only problem is Jay getting in. He could be a mid major D1 player with 2 years of Juco work.

Bopper is a great kid and will do well at Georgetown. I think you build a team around bopper and he will lead them to a championship.

Clark County High School All-State guard Bopper Stenzel, who had one of the best seasons of any seniors in the state, is headed to Georgetown College.

The 6-foot-1 Stenzel helped lead Clark County to the 10th Region title as a senior, averaging 17.2 points and 4.1 assists a game for the Cardinals. He was a member of The Courier-Journal’s second-team All-State squad.

“He had an incredible year,” Clark County coach Scott Humphrey said after the season. “He’s as tough as any kid that I have ever coached.”

Stenzel is the brother of Eastern Kentucky freshman Robbie Stenzel, who was a member of the first-team All-State squad last season.
