May 15, 201214 yr Like everyone else I'm just shocked. At first I thought a few lost a bet to him with the avatars then just happened to see the first thread in the breakroom and it really hit home. I will miss AL's posts about his beloved Crimson Tide. Over 150 posts about a man that noone really knew outside of BGP just shows how well respected he was. BGP lost a very good man. RIP Larry, and Roll Tide.
May 15, 201214 yr Thanks to Clyde for coordinating the effort and for his own donation. I cannot think of a better tribute to Larry...a scholarship in his name for his beloved FCA. He'd be so happy.

May 15, 201214 yr Not just a special group of people at BGP, but shows how special Alabama Larry was! He touched all of us so much, and we never even met him! This is how I will always remember this special man I never met. He posted this just a few days ago: "These people who want to just argue with me or put me in a bad light I pray for them and care for them, they are really good people who love the site, and who knows they might read a verse that someone puts on here and they could have a life changing moment. I want to go to Heaven and take as many folks as I can."
May 15, 201214 yr I seldom use the credit card, so I'm writing my check out to the fund. In the memo section I'm writing "from the BGP family." Thought maybe those that didn't go through paypal might want to do something similar. I'm going to do the same and drop a check in the mail tomorrow. Glad we have all the information posted here, makes it easy.
