Should girls be allowed to participate in male sports?

Featured Replies

Count out t-ball and those type of levels. Should girls be allowed to compete on male teams like in high school or pro. For example should Michelle Wi be allowed to compete in PGA events for men?

If so, should men be allowed to participate in womens sports like the LPGA?

No.

In coed leagues? Sure. Gender separated leagues are gender separated for a reason.

No. At least not in sports where there is physical contact. Golf might be an exception.

so what about wrestling? Im curious to your answers. Currently it is sanctioned as a coed sport, some of the big wrestling states have separate mens and womans championships, but not many.

If it is coed then sure.

Well that's my point, should sports be separate genders or not? isn't that the issue here? Should it matter depending on the sport?

Slippery slope, women's golf would be taken over by men. So would every other women's sport.

Men's shouldn't be allowed to play in the women's leagues, but if the girl is good enough to compete with the boys, let her play.

Just my 2 cents worth.

So should men who aren't good enough to play men's sports be allowed to play in the women's league?

Good question.

If you don't get drafted in the NBA then join the WNBA. I bet more kids would stay in college for more than a year.

I think sports should be separated by gender but I am not opposed to coed leagues. I am just opposed to coed leagues only.

I can agree with this.....:D

Michelle Wie has played in a few PGA men's events...she just has to play from the same tees.

We had girls playing roller hockey through high school. Not many but unlike ice hockey it is not a hitting contact sport. Some of the girls could throw a mean hip-check and get away with it. Some girls do play ice hockey in high school as well.
