Boone County’s Sydney Moss, the daughter of NFL wide receiver Randy Moss, was named Miss Basketball.

 

 

“My dad told me my freshman year about being a McDonald’s All American and wanted me to get it, but I didn’t,” Moss said. “I told him the next biggest thing is Miss Kentucky. I’ll take it.”

 

Other finalists were Ryle’s Jenna Crittendon, Perry County Central’s Kendall Noble, South Oldham’s Jasmine Whitfield and Manual’s April Wilson.

Moss is the fifth Miss Basketball from Northern Kentucky, following Erica Hallman of Holmes in 2002, Katie Schweggman of Bishop Brossart in 2001, Jaime Walz of Highlands in 1996 and Donna Murphy of Newport in 1976.
