April 28, 201214 yr If this game happens in Cincy it needs to be at the Shoe. I despise neutral court games. Wasn't their last regular season meeting in the Shoe? Seems like they would owe UK a visit to Rupp, no?

April 28, 201214 yr The Shoemaker Center opened in 1989. UK beat UC 75-71 in 1990 at The Shoe. My aging memory tells me that you're right.

April 28, 201214 yr Kentucky at Cincinnati (November 28, 1990) Rough night for Sean Woods. 4 pts/8 TOs.
April 28, 201214 yr The Shoemaker Center opened in 1989. UK beat UC 75-71 in 1990 at The Shoe. Of course they did. I am always shocked about how many people forgot this game. I have won many bets on whether this game actually took place or not.
April 28, 201214 yr It is set to be a home game for UC. Move it to US Bank and it will be a neutral/road game. If it happens I will be shocked if it is not at the Shoe... It'll be interesting too see what the crowd at The Shoe is like if this game happens.
April 28, 201214 yr It'll be interesting what the crowd at The Shoe is like if this game happens. The positive is that it would be a guaranteed sellout one way or the other.

April 29, 201214 yr Really hoping this game happens. Say what you want, but if there's ever a year for UC to beat UK, it'd be next year. UK will be extremely talented but very young and not very deep. And before someone mentions this past years team, no way this coming group is close to last years top 6. UC will be very deep and they play very well at home in big games. Would be a great game to.see. If rumors of Indiana are true, UC would get both UK and IU at home.

No doubt UC would be tough to beat. If the game were later on in the year then UK would obviously have a much better shot. The only reason UK is garnering as much praise as they do is because of history. I have no idea how people can think they are top 2 or 3 good to begin the year. They return Wiltjer. That is it and he is not much. At least this season they had a lot of veteran players returning so the early high ranking was warranted despite the youth.

Agreed...an early season matchup would definetly favor UC vs a game later in the year where Harrow some Wiltjer have had time to mesh with the talented frosh. And call me a homer but I think UC is very underrated considering what they return next year and who they replace Yancy and Dion with. (6'7 4* Thomas, 6'10 F Ellis, 6'8 Rubles- #2 JUCO nationally, and hopefully 6'8 Obekpa- top 50 talent)
