Not sure that Ethan is going to BW? If so, you are right. Went out and watched a tourney last weekend in Hamersville, both kids big and strong. Watched 3 games, their team blew out all three teams they played and beat Flames,a top 25 rated team nationally, in championship 11-1. After watching them live, I now believe all the hype on both. Combs a bit more raw than Stringer, but cannot imagine either of them anywhere but varsity next year. Not sure Ethan hit a bad ball in any game I saw, including a ball that went over the 345 sign in dead center, and went half way up a large tree. Not into the tale of the tape game, but would guess it was over 400ft, and yes, it was with a BBCOR bat. He went 6-8 with two walks in the games and hit every ball on the screws. Good outfielder as well with a great arm. Combs, when he gets it, hits it as hard as anyone I have seen. Hit a couple rockets down the right field line, probably went 3-8 or so in the games I saw. Add those two to BHamilton and the rest of those Diamond Jaxx kids, that team could be very good. Saw some great other NKY kids out there, the Flesher kid from Cooper, and Lyons from Dixie. Flescher is a hard throwing lefty that looks very smooth in the outfield and on the mound, and Lyons stood out as a hitter. I was there to watch Midland, but that is a great facility that allows you to watch 4 games at once. FWIW, saw a 6'5 12 year old from GA. Kid was a phenom.

The kid that plays for the 12u Flames???

Yea, you see him too? No clue how a 12 year old from Ga plays for Cincy team? Or how a kid that big at 12 can have that coordination?

Sorry to get this thread off track but the 12u Flames are kind of like the older Midland team. They have a few kids from around the country that plays with them in certain tournaments. Very hard to compete with that. When they play with their local kids only they are still very good but beatable. Travis Beck is their head coach and he is very good at finding superstars that will travel to play. Very good coaching staff on that team.

Back to frosh baseball.

Games tonight? Any updates?

I don't think the freshman regional games start until next week.

That is correct - all games start on Thursday. The finals are at 7:00 on Saturday.

The Scott/NCC game will be played at Scott.

With 7 games scheduled for tonight and a great weather forecast, I thought I would bump this back to the 1st page and ask for any insight going into tonight's matchups. Also, please post results to this thread for discussion in 1 location rather than several.

P.S. Pretty sure the Beechwood v. HHS game has been moved to a 4:30 PM start. Also, Jupus -- got your note about Scott hosting NCC. Just didn't get a chance to update the bracket. Will do so when I update with any results folks provide.

Highlands 3, Beechwood 2 FINAL from Beechwood. Details to follow from those who were there, but sounds like Doty pitched a gem (CG, 7 Ks & 0 BB) and drove in a run. Orne had a huge 2 run double with 2 outs in the top of the 5th.

Birds advance to face the winner of Scott v. NewCath tomorrow. (Location TBD).

Congrats Baby Birds!

Mark Walkenhorst made the play of the game to rob the Beechwood player of a shot to deep center..Mark caught it on a dead sprint..If Mark doesn't run that ball down this game could of went the opposite way.. Great job Birds!!!
