Gilbert had right at half of Wolfe's points, and maybe all of their points in the first quarter. Actually pretty close game till midway in second quarter. Lee hit a few threes in the second half to put it away. Gilbert seemed to get tired after the first quarter.

Bobcats are rolling.

Bobcats got off to a slow start, missing several easy shots, but Devin Taulbee came off the bench to contribute 16 points to the Bobcats. An awesome defensive performance by Micheal Weatherspoon off the bench against Cody Gilbert.

 

Gilbert seemed to give out after the first quarter. He missed several shots and the Lee County fans chanting air ball may have gotten in his head a little. I believe Gilbert wound up with 26.

 

All in all while the Bobcats didn't play their best basketball in the first half, they played with intensity in the second half. I can't wait to see the Perry Central Game on Friday.

Lee's first ten game winning streak in quite a while. The Bobcats did not play one of there better games but still managed to win by twenty. Next for the Bobcats is a big game against Perry Central at PCC. We wish the Bobcats lol friday night

Gilbert more than likely got tired because he was sick, I heard from some of the players that he was puking at halftime, but I dont want to take anything away from Lee Co., they did a great job on him, making him work for everything he got but anybody who is throwing up is more than likely going to get tired, As for the Lee Co. fans getting into his head, I am pretty sure that that didnt happen since he takes more crap from other teams than almost anybody considering he is one of the best in the region, I would almost bet that his airballs had more to do with fatigue than fans

A great game to watch, was much better game than the final score indicates, Wolfe was able to keep it around 8- 12 points but just died down late in the game , congrats to a very good Lee Co team, the twins played very good tonight and I was impressed with their team as a whole, Lee is going to make a splash in the region this yea and teams had better be ready

Congrats to Lee Co. Sounds like they have a very good team. Might bring back memories of the old State Tourney team when Larry Joe Moore roamed the court.

Lee County wins ten in a row. Friday night at Perry Central will demonstrate if Bobcats are truly contenders for the regional title in March.

I've not heard anything about Gilbert being ill before after or during the game. Saw him briefly after the game and he seemed fine.

Bobcats did not play their best game, but adjusted well after the half, in my opinion. Several key players had good, but "quiet" games, and allowed Lee County to demonstrate their depth off the bench. Lee seems to be able to adapt to whomever they play. It's been a long time since Lee has won ten in a row! Conratulations to the Bobcats and the coaching staff, who deserve a huge pat on the back.

 

I did see a couple of Perry Central's people at the game "scouting" the game. Should be interesting match up on Friday.

I've seen wolfe play a few times this year and what is sad to me is that at the end of the games, when it is clearly over, Gilbert pulls a Kobe Bryant. And by that I mean padding those stats. Taking advantage of the younger players that are in and demanding the ball and scoring.

That be normally be the case, but he didn't do it against Lee to any extent. He came on strong and gradually faded out, his team falling farther and farther behind.....

 

It almost seemed that he was going to try to take charge on every other possession and let his teammates do the rest. Cody did make a few big time shots. Fetters from Lee didn't have a great offensive game due to fouls, but he did swat one or two of Gilbert's away and played good defense. Cody scored quite a few at the end from the free throw line- probably 10 or so.

Another good win for Lee County they are off to a great start and are playing as good as anyteam in the mountains. They have an outstanding team with guard Kenny Brandenburg and big man Tyler Rich. It seems that Coach Wright has things clicking in Beattyville.

Gilbert is one of the top players in the region but until some other players step up to help him and to balance the offense wolfe could be in for a long season.

Chris STamper is eligible soon for wolfe. He is as good a scorer as gilbert....that will make wolfe much tougher to defend. You are so right about needing more than one scorer. Lee County does have multiple weapons.

Thats the thing about Lee County. Against Wolfe, Ken Brandenburg struggled offensivley, but Taulbee stepped it up. If you shut down one player, there are literaly 5 or 6 others to worry about.
