Hmm....got bad information on the mom then....sorry!

Actually, I think his mother ran track at Middle Tennessee State.

Correct.

The OSU coaching staff were running a full court press on him and his family at their Spring game last week.

I thought I read somewhere that the Quick family was from Tennessee. I think they moved to Ky and James would be a sophomore that year. I'm sure someone will correct if I'm wrong.

I know he played his freshman year at Trinity. I'm told his father has worked as an officer in the juvenile court system in Jefferson County for many years.

I sure hope we can keep him in the state. But I will wish him the best wherever he goes.

He really wants to go to Florida

To address that comment about him being tough, i agree but not whole heartedly. He rearely gets hit which is great but the one time he got hit in the X game he went out. And if one of the Trinity fans could reassure they are playing texas schools, we'll see how tough is.

ow tough is.

Your kidding , right ? How can you question the toughness of a player that is playing on one of the best teams in the country against arguably one of the toughest schedules in the country. He takes a "shot" in a game against X and leaves the field, and now you think he's not tough ? I have known some awfully tough high school players and have seen them leave the field, but I wouldn't even dream of telling them that they aren't tough. I have seen Quick play in person I can tell you he is just as tough as any player on any high school team.Playing WR and returning kickoffs shows me that he is plenty tough. Maybe you will see how tough he is while playing for a top notch college team on Saturdays , then a pro team on Sundays. I don't understand the Texas part of your post, are you saying Texas players are tougher than the ones from Ky or Ohio ? I f so , I believe you are sadly mistaken. I think anybody that has played football has had to sit out a play or two, but that didn't mean they weren't tough. If X's defense only hit Quick one time, then X's D needs some serious improvement. :D

Sounds like Ohio State is going to be very tough to beat for Quick. He's being sold on filling the role Percy Harvin had in the Florida offense. Nice gig if you can get it...

^ I don't mean to diminish his skills, but I think Percy was much better when working out of the backfield....while Quick gets a lot of screens, they're not in the backfield per se.....he's supreme in space. Not sure, but I think he's much different than Harvin in style.

Just sharing the pitch that was used...

Quick suffered a knee sprain when he came out. Have you ever had one of those? Your kneecap can't stabilize it slides in and out of place preventing cutting which is a major part of a receivers game. It amazed me that he played the next week against Butler, that showed his toughness to me.

^ Don't fall into the trap....not worth it...EVER!
