Any sympathy for cheaters?

Featured Replies

Do they deserve any sympathy or should their feelings be thrown to the wolves?

The reason I ask is because I just witnessed the equivalent of Corey and Topanga go through an ugly break up after seven years. It's like Drama that should have been on Reality TV. It's not as funny in real life though.

Been there, done that.

To answer your question, no I don't have any sympathy for cheaters. However, with saying that, you do not want to jeopardize your character. Their actions will ruin their reputation on their own and I fully believe in karma.

Do I sympathize? I don't know that I'd say that. BUT, as someone who has been cheated on in the past, I can still say that forgiveness is something that is necessary for both parties - the forgiver and the forgiven. It can take a while to get to that point for some people, sure, but it's something that should be the ultimate goal.

As for the damage to the cheater's reputation...well that's just a fact of life.

Who are Corey and Topanga???

Boy meets world, was a show back a few years ago of 2 kids that grew up together and they were BF/GF, nothing could break them apart and all that.

Get it a month and everything will calm down. I personally wouldn't tolerate it but a lot of people would be willing to forgive.

Tolerance and forgiveness are separate from one another.

True but I wouldn't give them the opportunity for forgiveness the relationship would be over.

Honestly, I wouldn't continue in a relationship that included cheating either, but that doesn't mean you can't forgive the person.

Forgiveness is really tough in my opinion. But you the person doesn't truly move on until they feel that. Doesn't mean they need to be friends though.

Two things I've learned...There is ALWAYS two sides to every story and and NO ONE knows what goes on behind closed doors.

I can't think of an instance where I could excuse cheating, regardless of the situation.

Scripture deals with this very thing as permissible for divorce. Just sayin'.

If you aren't happy in the relationship that you are in, get out of it before you move on to the "next thing". I hate that excuse, "Well I cheated because I wasn't happy in my relationship."
